as long as there is nothing wrong for it, I don't see how you can go wrong with 50 bucks.

yeah like auto maggot says... if it doesnt fit or is too low to the ground (dont think you'll have a problem with that, but my friends lowered integra had an intake he rigged on it and it hydrolocked his engine..) make sure it fits alright.. if you have to there's no problem moving it around a little, but dont start gluing and taping and ziptying...

Sounds liek a CAI setup your buddy had, AEM has a insert out to prevent water from beeing sucked in right off the get go, cant remember what it was called for the life of me now though.
But with any CAI setup when the filter is sitting that low to the ground your more than likely going to suck in some water, just not huge amount unless your in a puddle.
But Injen is a very good and well known brand for parts, usually their intakes are farrrr more expensive than that price. I would make sure it is in fact a trued Injen intake and not some Ebay "Injen" setup with a sticker salpped on it.

if its off a civic, it might not fit. go to ebay and look for a sunfire cold air intake, and buy one from the guy who most likely has 20 different intake listings. his product is tried and true, and despite the cheap costs, they work as well as any (and the build quality is great)
and i know first hand because myself and others i know have bought stuff from him and couldnt be happier

It could work, it could not. If not, you could get some couplers and cut the thing into pieces so it sits in there. It's not gonna be a perfect fit if its off of a civic, so you're gonna probably have to do some modifying. BTW, I'd jump on that deal, even if I didn't have a civic. Injen is a reputable brand, and you could probably find some stupid kid that would cough up 100 bucks for it. If you have to tools to modify it to make it work, go for it. You're not gonna find an intake for your sunfire that is a cheap one unless you ebay.

Take a look at his engine bay and see how the intake system is set up compared to your stock intake system. If it bares no resemblence what so ever on how it is set up (ex. would be its on a different side of the engine, and the pipe bends another way) then it will probably never fit. If it looks like its set up somewhat similar, you might be able to pull off making some custom mounts, couplings, etc. to make it fit. But for $40, I'd buy it and re sell it. If it's a full CAI and it's in good shape, you could easily get over $80 for it. Injen is a well known brand. As far as performance goes, it's not going to give you much. Usually, you will only gain 5-8whp tops off of a cold air intake. It's more for sound than it is for performance.

That's not always true. http://www.club3g.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42380
Many people have found that a name brand often has better fitment and build quality than the generic "Injen stlye" or "AEM stlye" intakes found on ebay. However, this is not always true.

i didn't read through all the replies, but here's my take. don't bother spending money. get yourself a K&N panel filter instead.
keep your tyres pumped up (if you don't already check it every other week or so) and possibly run a bottle of seafoam through your fuel system, and you'll "see" better fuel mileage, be quicker off the line. did the seafoam thing to my finacee car 2 weeks ago, and within 20 miles, her problems with difficult starting went away.
but then again, if you can afford to tie up $40 for a little bit, re-sell on ebay or a forum.
