Hooker is made by Holley, so you know the names reputable. Friend of mine has them on his chevelle and they sound nice. He likes em. Personally, I'm a Flowmaster guy. I've got a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on my Camaro right now and I love the tone. I'm getting a new catback system after christmas, and I'll be going Flowmaster again.

hookers are the best for ford, watch out for hedmens they are to tight in on the v8s and as for flowmaster headers.............. mufflers are good, there headers steer clear of. I have a set of hookers on my 302 and they are excellent.

What do you mean hookers are best for Ford? A V8 is a V8, a Ford and a SBC operate the same, so why would hooker be better for Ford? Do you have a page to flow and backpressure ratings of the different headers on different engines? Oh and Flowmaster doesn't make headers my friend...you are thinking of Flowtec.

u r right and by what I mean hookers are better for ford the clearance and the design is better. Hedmans are to close in and to change the plugs you have to remove them in most cases. And flowtech is owned by holley and is a downgrade from hookers. And as for my experience I am an Assistant Manager at checker auto (west coast company) we have all the books and ratings on them. The only one that comes close is edlebrock.

nope, i've used walker headers, edelbrock headers, dynatech cats [they rock] and i've used 30/40 series original flows, when you can get brand new flowmasters for $40 at some places, nothing beats them.

Or you could go Summit Long Tube headers ($86.95) Summit 2.5" X-Pipe ($89.95)
and two flowmaster 40 series ($120)
For a grand total of
$296.90
I mean, you Could go Summit headers. Their collecter is 1/2 inch smaller and the tubes are 3/8" smaller, but other than that, they are not far off at all:
HOOKER

SUMMIT
Unless you wanna go ahead and shell out a few extra $$ for the Hookers, thats cool too. That brings you to about $350 alltogether. Then take that extra $150 and get a nice lumpy cam from Comp cams, or get some nice tips.
But as for 500$ for what you listed...no thats a ripoff. Search www.Summitracing.com and mix and match different stuff, you'll find that you will save alot

some people don't like buying second hand stuff.... summit brand parts are all made by big name companies, but the company doesn't have to worry about the end product so much, as it's not under their name.

yes its for the stang in my sig. Im looking to upgrade from stock exhaust manifolds and single exhaust to headers and dual exhaust. My ideal would be hooker long tubes...an x- pipe that will fit my 66 289 stang and dual flowmaster 40 series mufflers......but everywhere i look they seem to want so much money for that setup.

I've got flowmasters on the Cobra. They have a nice sound, but drone a little on the highway. Best thing to do is find someone with the setup you want and listen to them. Don't worry about how much power they make, listen to the sound first. If you don't like the sound it will drive you nuts.
