Honest Vs Thread
Alright, since the SRT-4 is out of the picture for me now since htey are going to discontinue it, me and my dad have test drove some other cars and I have narrowed it down.
06 Civic SI vs 06 RSX Type S
Both will be basically the same stuff, same price, stick etc. Which would you go with. I'm leaning towards the RSX, but I just wanted to see what you guys think.
By the way, I am putting down 15k, and then my parents are picking up the payments. Then when I get outta college, I am paying them back plus interest for the car, so I'm not getting this for free at all. Maybe a thousand or two for graduation if I'm lucky.

I am not dissing you in any way. My parents couldn't even help get a $300 blazer. I am not good at saying things well, I wasnt dissing you I hope you just see the things which r there that r a blessing i guess.

yea, and chevys not even high end sports car could blow away the best sport car ford has got right now (mustang GT) off the lot.
and.... the impala gets 30+ MPG thanks to displacement on demand. does ford have 30 MPG in a V-8 w/ as much power as the impala SS?
yea, now go back to ur cave.

I would go with the RSX. I have loved RSX's for a long time now, and think they are awesome cars. When my sister was looking for a new car about 2 months ago, I talked her into test driving an RSX and letting me come along. I love those cars.

One of my friends has a Mustnag (2003 v6), and another one of them has a Pontiac GTP. They have raced a couple times, and Adam (friend with GTP) has won most of those times. Both of the cars are automatic, and it has nothing to do with the driver because Drew (friend with mustang) is a much better driver than Adam.
I'm not a big fan of ford. Never have, never will.

My friend has a 2002 RSX Type S. He paid 15k for it, tis very fast and tight.
I'd just buy a used one.

Right, so why do LS1 Camaros and TAs still outrun Mustangs?

um b/c the ls1 motor is a CORVETTE engine. If you want to compare that class well you will definatley lose. FORD GT all I got to say.
And the svt cobra spanked the GTO and the ls1................
2002 Camaro SS
In recognition of the Camaro's 35th birthday, Chevy offered an anniversary-edition SS. Some design cues harked back to that first 1967, but the 346-cube LS1 small-block cranked out 325 net horsepower--on unleaded gas.
First Drive: 2003 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra
America's original trick pony gets a supercharger, a six-speed manual, and 390 hp
By Jack Keebler
Photography by Wesley Allison
Motor Trend, March 2002
Last year's 320-hp SVT Mustang Cobra was long overdue for a power increase-the Camaro SS and Trans Am WS6 routinely embarrassed the Cobra to 60 mph and through the quarter mile. Problem addressed: Try a 390-hp V-8 (comparable thrust to the limited-edition Cobra R's), with a supercharger, six-speed manual gearbox, and extensive driveline and chassis upgrades. Don't call it a revolution-even the body modifications are subtle. But pity the Camaro SS driver who mistakes the '03 SVT Cobra for one of the old models. All this and still priced around $35,000? Sounds like that power payback has finally arrived.
And this is off of motor trend.

How's it a corvette engine if was also offered standard in Z-28/SS and TA/WS6s?
The only Cobra that ever came close to spanking an LS1 would be a 03-04 Cobra, and it even still has a hard time doing it.
But if I was gonna compare a GM product to the Ford GT class, I'd just use the C6 Z06.

ONE Ford GT was the fastest car under $200,000 for 05. Two the LS1 motor is a corvette motor not a camaro by birth. Three read my edit and you will see the real words you should have stated. Oh and heres the link so you don't think I wrote it.
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ain/index.html
Having a hard time? They have never gotten close again, and well the camaro is no more.

So just because Chevrolet uses a good motor to it's advantage, you can't place LS1Camaro/TAs in the same category for as Mustang, LMAO.
Wow the fastest car under $200,000 outruns a $65,000 Corvette by 7mph and is only 1/100th of a second faster in the 1/4, especially since we're comparing magazine racing.
And I agree with the latest Cobras Ford has stepped up, but even then it isn't by a lot. The 03-04 Cobra just made them "equal" to the LS1 cars. Ford made the newer Mustangs modular lineup a little better, but they still aren't outrunning "outdated" Camaros and TAs.
