First, unless you have a lot of money laying around I wouldn't get a Porsche. If anything breaks the parts cost will kill ya. There arn't a lot of people that want to work on them either. RX7 is another car I wouldn't get. They were great cars, crazy fast stock. However, the rotary, by design, burns oil, parts and labor would again be pretty expensive, and not a lot of people want to work on them. So, unless your putting a V8 in it as a project I wouldn't get one. Older vettes have reliability issues, unless you know what to look for you could open yourself up for problems. The 300ZX is a good buy, but similer to the vette in that you have to know what to look for. You have to make sure the turbos are still in good condition and the engine hasn't been beaten to within an inch of its life.

All in all, I don't know what to tell you. The only other thing I could think of besides what is mentioned is a Ford SVT Focus. Maybe a Lotus Elan too? They are harder to find, but they handle extremely well and can be made stupid fast.

hmm lotus elans dont seem to be a dominating presence on ebay, so ill have to keep my eye on there and see if one pops up. would a mechanic be able to diagnose any problems the 300zx would have if i have it checked out first? i love those things now, and the 300zx is currently top of my list.

Yea, if you are going to buy one definately go look at it and bring a mechanic along.

Ask around on ZCar.com or try searching Google. Depending on your area, there may be a specialty Z shop near you, or at least a Z club with a member willing to come check it out. Z members love all types of Zs, and love helping out other Z-enthusiasts.

who cares if the 3000GT is heavy, its got enough balls behind it to get it goin in a hurry. well, of course you could be an import ----- and rip out the interior but that dont look good. You could get a used wrx or an RSX type s. they dont have a GREAT resale but are still nice cars. of course, if youre lookin for the most upgradeable and nicest bang 4 your buck, id go wit the 3kgt. OH btw, the fart cans on the nissan zx look like ****

Balls enough to get it going? Are you serious? Do you know how many other cars there are with the same or more power and yet so much less weight? I think he would care then. Bang for your buck is definitely NOT the 3000GT.

And you may not like the looks of the 'fart' cans, but they actually serve a purpose. It's not like on a stock 4cyl Honda Civic where it merely sounds and looks like ****. I can't tell what exact exhaust it has on there, but I garuantee it adds extra kick.

Either way it'd eat a stock 3000GT, and totally out-handle it in the twisties.

yea, that's a catback exhaust, and it adds a lot of power, due to the fact that the car has freakin twin turboes, is 300+hp, and moves a shatload of air through the engine.

the second car is even better... 400 horsepower, and i think it looks better too

yea a catback will put in more horsepower, but you dont need to have an exhaust that can shoot watermelons. you could just get a set od flowmaster super 60s and throw them on there with 2 chrome 3'' drop pipes comin out back, that would be cool. or replace the fart cans wit a set of glasspacks so you still get your horsepower and it sounds a ton better, not like its constipated and havin trouble pushin one out. the z is a nice car, its just that exhaust on there irks me.

yea i dont like that first exhaust too much either, but its not something i can't quickyl swap out for a hundred bucks if i decided to get that car. its not even the size that irks me really, they just stick out so awkwardly

Have you ever even heard a Z? Even a N/A Z doesn't sound like " its constipated and havin trouble pushin one out". I'm not saying it sounds the same as a Vette with a 454 in it or something, but you would not think "Man, that sounds ricey with that exhaust". Short and simple, the Z sounds like a performance car should.

The reason they stick out 'awkwerdly' is because you can buy angled tips like that. Some like them, others don't. They do make straight tips though, so don't worry.

i guess its all personal preference, i like it when my car rips and sounds like a harley or just a low badass rumble. I dont like that ricey machiney noise that fart cans make or help make. I just dont believe that exhaust does the car justice
