My new wheels...2006 Corolla S
Well after getting back from Rome, I purchased my first and brand new car. My dad knows a salesman at a local Toyota dealership, so i got this baby for $200 over cost to the dealership.
Specs:
1.8-liter DOHC 16-valve VVT-I
4-cylinder
126 hp @ 6000 rpm;
122 lb.-ft. @ 4200 rpm
5-Speed Manual Overdrive tranny(best part, 32mpgcity/41mpg highway)
6Disc(in dash) w/ 6 speakers, ill add a sub and probably new speakers too.
Cruise control, power locks/windows, keyless entry
Spoiler and underbody spoilers, doesnt look ricer, looks sharp i think.
Drives really smooth, the standard transmission has a short throw and shifts beautifully. The car has a lot of get up and go, i cant wait to get my 1000 miles in so i can really let it rip.
I thought about other cars but decided i didnt want a Ford or Chevy b/c i wanted somethign that won't break down within 2 years. So i went with Toyota.
Comments, suggestions, critiques?

What does the "S" stand for? Slow? Just kidding, looks good. Good luck with it. 2006 must be the year of the Toyota, my father just bought my mother a 2006 RX330, which is basically a Toyota and my neighbor just bought a 2006 Camry.
As to Fords and Chevys breaking down. We've got around 12 of them and they have all been fine from '73 +. Well, my Mazda Tribute (90% Ford) is at the dealer now getting a new rear seal, but that's my fault. Apparently they arn't made for doing AWD burn outs and doughnuts in the snow.

15's at best?? Are you kidding? I'd say 16 on a good day. But, it's not a car you would bring to a track and seems like it's Dhills daily driver so ya cant really judge that. Eh but I doubt it has any real "get up and go".

Its nothing to look at. Its a 92 ford escort GT. It has a 1.8 liter DOHC 16 valve 4 cylinder(I believe the engine is actually a mazda instead of a ford).Had 127 HP and 114 ft/lbs of torque when it was new, but I can guarantee you its not as powerful now....if you really want pics I can prolly get some when I get home.
I just got it a few years ago and have never had any inclination to take it to infineon when they have their drag nights, but that time is what I was told it ran when I got it. I know it is by no means fast, but it gets me to and from places and is actually quite reliable.

Master of Paint already said it, but its my 35mpg daily driver to and from work and school. I dont race and dont ever plan to, and by 'get up and go' i mean it has plenty enough power to be enjoyed on the roads, not that its anything competitive with your gas guzzling v-8.

Yeah, I realize that some people have different intentions for cars other than going fast, and if it's a daily driver, it's smart to have something that gets good mileage. Now, if you started ricing it out and adding aftermarket parts that really dont do much for cars like that, then it'd be a different story, in which it would have been okay to arouse the questions about its times on the quarter mile in the first place.

Speaking of mileage......You guys want to know something funny? My supercharged 4.6L DOHC V8 Cobra actually got better highway mileage than my 3.0L DOHC N/A V6 Mazda Tribute before I changed the rear gearing. WTF is up with that?

i have a 92 cavalier..148(nearly 9) thousand miles on it...AC works great, drives fine, needs a tune up but other than that and the blown speaker in the front...it has definitely exceeded 2 years without breaking down its automatic if you were wondering (i doubt it)

well i was generalizing.....no offense to any individual ford or chevy intended, but on the whole they do require more repairs
