should i sell my car and get a truck? HELP!

ok so the conversation with my dad went something like this...

me:wouldnt u kno as soon as we buy my car (even tho its been like 7 months) i see all these trucks in our price range for sale?

him:well do you want a truck?

me:uh yea, id really prefer it over my car (2000 pontiac sunfire)

him: do any of ur friends wanna buy ur car? cuz if so maybe we could negotiate something....

sooooo do you guys think itd be a wise choice if i sold my car. cuz my car gets 28-30 mpg in the city and about 200 to the tank. for a small truck? i.e. S10, mazda, toyota....somethin like that? what are the pros and cons of owning a little truck over a car?

If you're going to get a truck, get a truck... Something big, not like an S10.

I say, keep your car, good gas mileage.

My friend is selling his S10. He's gotta fix the clutch in it but it's a clean truck. I've driven it and it drives real nice. Pretty good shape too. Few minor things on the body but I think he's getting that fixed as well. If you really want an S10 it'd be worth the 2-3 hour drive.

if you get an s10 you better bag it. if you don't get something big like an f150, silverado, or maybe a ram.

you don't have to bag an s10... you can lift an s10. I'm a country boy so i think bagged trucks are a waste of life.

I drive a 4runner and it has the 3.4L V-6 in it (***** engine until i get the turbo kit when i can get 2g's) and i get 17.5MPG... now that might no seem like much, but the 4runner is a decent sized vehical. It's like the size of an envoy i'd say.

If you get a small truck, i'd recomend either a tacoma, or s10 type truck. You can find used 1500's and stuff for >$10-$8 grand and are still nice trucks.

W/ the 4.3l v-6 in any chevy compact u will expect to get 16-17 depending on driving style.

im guessing you cant afford the mileage of a f150 or truck like that, my dads got a f150 and gets like 10mpg, which is what i get in my big block chevelle

yea s10 with a backseat, (the ones with just a front seat and thats it are way too small inside) that is lowered can look pretty cool if you do it tastefully

my dads 150 gets 16-18.

S-10's are ok if you like weekly repairs and have the time and money for it. Once they hit its peak mileage its downhill REALLY DAMN quick. My friends wasting his money on one right now.

If you wanna light truck, get a jeep comanche (just cuz im a jeep fanatic). has a reliable 4.0 I-6, tons more hosepower and torque than a 4.3 (in an S-10), and if its still in decent shape, you could possibly get a little under 18 mpg.

Jeep- The unstoppaple legend (as long as you dont count my bros cherokee from hell)

my grandfather has a 2001ish s10, he has driven it from new jersey to florida 10 times, and across the country a couple times, about 100,000 miles on it, and has never had to do anything to it except oil change, tune up, tires, and basic stuff like wiper blades. But im sure thats cause hes old and takes care of his stuff

and my dad has the 5.4v8 in his f150, which brand was rated at 12mpg

No they aren't. I beat my friend's s10 by 7 cars and my car is slow as hell. Idk about the V6 or V8 ones but the 4cyl ones are slowwwwww.

He said quick.. so meaning like its kinda fast or has good acceleration. I'm just saying how it lost to a slow honda, so it can't really be quick.

Everything is quick if you lean on the gas pedal.

Dear Skate and Paint:

Do you want a truck? If so, get a truck.
