hahaha yeah, i wanna make it a decent mudder, i dont think the 2.5'll have the torque for any major rock crawling or anything of that nature, so i'm just looking for a decent mud setup.. hopefully a 3.5 and an sye will do the trick with a set of decent m/t's or a/t's

Nice- looks alot better without the flares. I have a Toyota, but I wheel the **** out of it.
Its not often you will see me complimenting Jeeps, but you did a good job restoring it.

Yeah, I see. Too bad you didn't get the 4.0 liter..
Get m/t's.

 Thanks.
I know what you mean....it's almost mutual between Toys and Jeeps....until the H2/3's came out, and the Jeep community shifted focus, lol.

yeah... i hate hummers.. ick the originals i like, but h2's and 3's ewwww...
and i know, it wasnt my choice to get the vehicle, it was free and so i pretty much had to take it... the 2.5 has got enough torque and 4wd capability for mud, but i wouldnt trust it for a second rock crawling... i wish my trac-lok wasnt crapped out on me.. i cant afford another one for my rear, so it's basically open, with a shot LSD in the back... i did get lucky and get a chrysler 8.25 axle though instead of the ****ty dana 35... w00t..
i will definitely get another cherokee, hopefully manual, but definitely 4.0, and that will definitely get a 6" lift, and some rock crawling action. maybe i'll stroke it and throw a light boost supercharger on it for a little extra power.. i'll have to see how they feel off road if i get one.

Haha, sounds good...but one thing.
You'll run out of money WAYYY before then.
I don't see why you can't make YOUR XJ like that! It would be cheaper than starting over. Oh, and Ebay is your friend.
Good luck with your buildup. If you ever need any technical help, or just want some Jeep comradery, I'm at Jeepforum.com.

meh.. the rust on my body makes me want to get rod of it.. it sucks how hard it is to find replacement xj doors tho.. lol my passenger side door is toast, and my rear drivers side quarter panel is gettin bad.. there's also a little spot on the roof at the front of my gutter... plus i'd rather spend the money on something with a decent engine as i have no way of swapping engines.. at least not for quite a while... lol
i'm also at jeepforum.com, under the same name, so i definitely know about it !

Exactly guys.
I got it for free from a guy's shop, so I wasn't picky.
Plus, it'll have enough tread to get me to the nearest wherever, ya know?
