Jeep Wranglers?
Few questions about Jeeps...
1. What's mileage like on a '97-present Wrangler?
2. What are some parts that will need replacing/fixing around 100k?

Wranglers are not very fuel efficient. With the 4 cylinder, you should be seeing aroud 18 city and 21 highway. With the 4.0L I-6, you should be seeing around 16 city and 19 highway. This is of coarse when everything is stock. Once you factor in larger tires, gearing, etc. it only gets worse. I personally own a 94 YJ and I got 15 city and 18 highway with my stock 4.0L and 5-speed tranny. With my 4.6L stroker, it suprisingly is the same. This is of course because I am shifting around 1300-1400 rpm instead of 2200 before when driving around normally.
As far as 100,000 miles goes, you really don't have much to worry about assuming it has been taken care of well. I've seen a few 4.0L I-6's last well over 300,000 miles. The I-6 had over 60 years of R&D and finally evolved into the 4.0L we have today. The only reason DCX is cutting it is because it is very fuel inefficient.

my 2.5l I4 in my cherokee as you can see is at 255k and still running strong.. dont expect many major repairs at all as long as it's taken care of. The 4.0l is the same way... these jeep engines are pretty much indestructible as long as you provide it with regular maintenance.. repairs i'd expect are the typical tranny flush at 100k, and tires and brakes. maybe an exhaust or water pump, but as long as you take care of it i wouldnt worry too much about expensive repairs.

I've heard that water pump, exhaust manifold and brakes are all that really need to be taken care of.
Based on these responses, you guys would say that these are reliable vehicles, right?
What should I look out for when test driving used Wranglers? Exhaust manifold, water pump, brakes, anything else?
