My Second is my current car...a pontiac sunfire, and up until a month ago, was very reliable, and now the gas tank is pissing gas, the check engine light is on, and the alternator just went yesterday. I went to get the gas leak fixed, and the mechanic said it wouldnt be worth it, cuz it would be soo expensive.
With a new car...I dont hafta worry about anything except brakes and if a I burn a clutch...which I wont, cuz I have been driving standard for 3 years, havent burnt one on either vehicle.
Also, Civic SI...too much. There like $21K, and Honda said that the lowest payment was some small fortune a month over 5 years....so I think thats out of the question.

Buy used from a stealership. Most vechicles are still under warranty and are pretty low mileage.

Wouldnt be able to get a Civic SI used here....closest place that sells a used Civic SI is 3 hours away for me!
And that RSX type-s sounds awesome...gotta see where the nearest Acura dealership is though....
Anybody got any more ideas?

to give you kind of an estimate of how fast an rsx-s is, stock to stock, with you and a passenger in the car, it can keep up with an srt-4 for a while, and only loses by a few carlengths at the end...
that's not too bad considering if you ever would have the money to turbo an rsx it would fly.. granted the high compression ratio sucks, so you wont be able to run crazy mad boost, but still, it's a jump.

Problem is....there is no acura dealer in vermont....closest is New York...about 250 miles away or so.
I found a used Acura RSX type-s near Boston for about $18K, but it has a about 50K miles, which means I have about 50K miles till I hafta replace that turbo, and with my driving around all the time, that would be pretty soon.

yeah, rsx's arent FI i was just saying, if you did turbo it, it'd be pretty quick.. only thing the type-s has over the regular is VTEC, the 2001 RSX has a base model with 210 horsepower, and the type-s with 200 horsepower and VTEC. both have 6 speed manual transmissions available too i believe.. i know the type-s does

A kind I went to school and my cousins wife both have an RSX-S. It's a nice car, both are pretty peppy and handle well. I would get one over a Scion.

Nope. It's got the I-Vtec. My buddy has one and it's pretty badass. It would smoke the **** out of a Scion and be much more reliable. He hasn't had any problems whatsoever except for when he hit a pole when he was intoxicated.
Definitly look into an RSX. Also it's hard to imagine or believe, but those RSXs have SO MUCH room inside. It's a very comfortable ride.

well...i dunno if its more reliable. the cars arent 6 or 7 years old. RSX's and tc's are newer, so we really dont know which is more reliable do we? If anything, id think the scion would be more reliable, because toyota likes to make cars for women who didnt know that a car needed an oil change, or new filters, or any maintenance whatsoever.

I like RSXs...but idk....50K miles already on it.
I always though the Type-s was turbo'd....hmm weird.
I am leaning more towards the scion....only because its brandy new. Not sure on this one...damn choices....

If I bought a new car in that range I would get the tc, not because its a badass car or anything, but because I like the company. They are pretty reliable and I like the looks of some of them. But of course you wouldnt rice it out so it would be ok.

rsx's are basically hondas with a different badge.. that engine if taken care of is good 200k+ miles.. i wouldnt worry about one with 50k on it only..

Well thats the thing...I wasnt sure if the Type-s was a turbo, so I got a little edgy. I am going to test drive a Scion hopefully tomorrow, and maybe test drive a acura RSX (Not a type-s) at some place else. I think I am gonna go with the Scion, only cuz payments are pretty cheap, and insurance will probably be cheaper, cuz its not considered a "fast car" kinda....
I think RSX insurance would kill me. Well...I hafta get full coverage, so insurance is gonna kill me anyways.

well, sorta, but mainly the Scion part of toyota. Scion does alot of sponsoring for Ichthus and other music things in ky.
and I know some people who have them and put theirs through heck and they still run great.
