can't beat elemental designs. I had two tens that hit hard, and now I really regret selling them.

So [Mostly towards Nissan, other opinions welcome] what's your opinion on using a pair of these instead of a pair of larger subs, such as a 8" or 10"? I imagine the needed box volume is a good deal smaller and that alone could be enough to sell me.
I think they're pretty interesting, but other than that I have no real idea of what's going on.
I currently have a pair of 15" Volfenhag DVC subs (Everyone at highschool had these things because they were cheap and we were also cheap. We knew nothing.) I'm not so sure I like them much at all now, five years later.
Also have a pair of 10" CV Vega series subs, SVC. I liked those ones...but they were in a car wreck with me and they need new foam. I can't find anywhere that has the V style foam that they came with...only the normal orange single curve foam.
So again, basically. What can I reasonable expect from two of the eD's in a fairly well built ported (sealed?) box?

i can pretty much garentee(sp) that 2 eD 6.5s in a correctly sized ported box will give you lower, tighter, and much better sound quality than the 15s volfenhag subs you have not to mention smaller box size and less power draw
as for DB expectations i couldnt tell you cause i cant get my friend to get off his ass and meter his 6.5s
i have read about eD 12s hitting in the 140 area in a sealed box
but for these sub to perform at peak performance the box need to be built to exact mfg specs as with any sub
and cv doesnt make a repair kit for the v style surronds any more and so far i havent found any other companys that make one either

Your friend has some of them installed?
This is all excellent news.
Except for the part about the Vega foam. That makes me sad.
I'll probably PM you or make a thread when I get further along in thinking about this project.

So this is the ultimate for the cheap/poor person that wants nice, hard-hitting subs then?

I have two 12" sony xplod subs and a sony 1200W amp that actually hits really hard. It hits harder then my friends system, and he has dual coil 12" subs. He was pissed the day he found out mine was better lol.
I am getting a new car, and I have a huge...let me re-phrase....GIGANTIC sub box that holds these two 12" and I cant stand it. Now...whats the wattage on these 6.5" subs? I have that 1200W amp that actually pounds, and was wondering if those little 6.5" can handle that 1200W....anyone know this?
And how hard do they really hit? Pretty hard? Couldnt tell from the movie.
Thanks guys.

the wattage on the 6.5s is 150watts rms if you can give me you model# off you amp i can see what its rms wattage is
and for your friends subs subs just because they are dual voice coil doesnt mean that they are better a cheap sub is still a cheap sub no matter if its singe or dual voice coil and box design plays a major part in sub performance
and yes these the 6.5s pound hard just as hard as most major brand 12s

you are puttin down 200watts rms x 2 @4ohms so that amp would be fine for a couple of the 6.5s

Think you could help me come up with a good box for maximum performance?
