omg to a new gto?
ls2 or ls1?
i effing love those cars, so much torque and power, yet affordable, the episode of top gear when jeremy clarkson test drove it is awesome.
my neighbor has one, bought it wrecked for $8,000 and spent $3,000 fixing it, lucky bastard
EDIT: found that episode (this is bordrline orgasm stuff, haha) http://youtube.com/watch?v=YgxnSyrnT...p%20gear%20gto
(they refer to it as a "HOLEN MANARO" cause thats what its called in australia)

Well, atleast it gave it some character....since the GTO has none of its own.
1337,
The first year (2004) was an LS1, subsiquent years ('05, '06) have the LS2.
The car is only doing a three year run though. It would cost GM too much to bring it up to 2007 Saftey Standards and it doesn't sell to well now, so they're just dropping it. Supposidly they will bring it back on the Camaro's platform if they make the new 'maro. But, that isn't looking good either as they don't think they will sell enough of them to justify the cost. I forget what the numbers were, but they would have to sell almost as many V6 versions as Ford does with the mustang, and the projected number based on previous v6 'maro sales weren't even close.
All in all, it's looking like if you want a RWD performance car from GM you have to buy a Vette, Solstice/Sky, or Caddy.

Holden Monaro in Australia
Vauxhall Monaro in England.
They are both pretty much the same car, but ours has more in common with the Holden version (which I believe they stopped making too).
