Speaker level inputs
Alright...New car, new sub, and a old amp. Well the amp isnt hold, but the headunit I have dosent have rca output.
My amp has speaker level inputs on it. I dont have a clue on how to wire speaker level inputs into that amp. I know you can run a amp off of that if you dont have rca out on your headunit, so anyone know how to wire this?
I know nissantuner does.....
Also, whats the loss if I wire it through the speaker level inputs?

use something like this
you connect that to the speaker output behind your headunit, and then connect the rca cables as usual that go back to the amp. Ive used these before and they work great.

get me the model number and the brand because what it sounds like is your amp has straight wire connections on it for an input just like where you connect your wires that go to your speakers
is this right?
or does it have rca inputs

It has a rca input and output on the amp...my headunit does not have a rca out though, which is the problem. So I thought I could wire it through the speaker level inputs.
Also, I think I told you what I had at one point...its a Sony XM-2200GTX.
And I think thats right?
I have a rough idea on how to wire up a speaker level input on this, just would like some guidance, ya know?

what that does is you splice those bare wires to the speaker output wires coming out of your headunit, and it gives you an RCA out. It Just makes a headunit without an rca out, have an RCA out.

I got one of those today, installed it, and hooked everything right, or what I thought was right, and turned on my car, and there was no power to the amp.
I blew a fuse.
I dont have a clue on how it blew. I am getting a new one tomorrow...any idea on how it blew though?

well, the line output converter wouldent have anything to do with it so just check the wiring going into the amp and make sure its all clean and nothing is touching that shouldent be..
