Who could it be? It's a fresh El Camino rollin' Kilo G.

So i went to NC for a 2 week vacation and came back with this. It is a 1979 El camino with a 305 V8, 3 speed auto, and 93,000 miles. For being 27 years old, i think this car is crazy clean. All original except for a set of mid 80's camaro wheels. Also has tires with less than 50 miles on them. I havnt got to drive it yet because its not registered/inspected in PA yet. Enjoy.

edit: also has air shocks in the back. not airbags, shocks. i liked the current stance so i left them alone.

They only put a 305 in the SS version?

That thing is amazingly clean, is it pretty quick? TBI or TPI?

The 350 was an option for the SS only. You couldnt get a 350 without getting an SS.
TBI is carburated correct? It has the Quadrajet 4 barrel carb on it. Also it doesnt have any of the emissions stuff on it, so thats one less thing to pass for inspection

TBI is throttle body injection, it pretty much looks like a carb, but its not.

So you have a Q-jet, you should get 15-20mpg highway with that setup. If you wanna get more performance out of her, about 150$ and ebay will get u a nice used carb and intake, should give you around 25-35hp

Is it a 350 or a 305? If it's the 305, I was wondering why they'd put that rather than something bigger in an SS. If it's a 350, then you're all set to go.

TBI is throttle boty injected, like said above. TPI is tuned port injection, which is just like any modern fuel injection system. I guess it's neither though, haha,

Have some fun with that thing. Are you planning any upgrades?

the two things i wanted to do was get a hooker headers/flowmaster exhaust system, and a rhino lining in the back. i saw it done to a sharp el camino and it looked real nice, plus no scratches in the bed. and it is a 305. if im feeling adventurous i may get it painted a royal blue or something similar. and a mild audio system.

there is a head unit that is designed specifically for the el camino/malibu dash and wont ruin the classic look. i want to keep it semi original looking. a small amp, 2 mids in the dash, and a 10 will do me just fine.

in reality the difference between a 305 and a 350 is 1/8 inch in the bore. this is what my uncle told me, im sure pat would know for sure. (ironically my uncle is named pat too)
