motorcycle permit questions

well, i've taken drivers ed at school but i'm not too sure if this applies towards my motorcycle permit...and well, i've taken drivers training, but that was with a car...and i doubt that helps me at all with my motorcycle permit, so the questions are...does the drivers ed i took at school help me at all towards my motorcycle permit? and, if i signed up for the msf course, could i get my permit? or does that drivers training i took w/ a car count towards it? I just wanna clear all this up, i live in california by the way

It depends on the state. Best thing to do is get someone to drive you down to your local DMV and either talk to someone or grab some pamphlets/books.

In NJ if you want your motorcycle permit you just bring your id, take the eye test, and pay the fee. Then you have a certain amount of time to ride around before you have to go take your test. But, again, it all depends on the state.

Its the same way here in KY as dooms said. But as of yesterday, it is legal to use deadly force if someone is entering your home/property unwillfully. God Ky is great...... lol

Ok this is how it goes, you live right around me so its the same regulations.

You have to be 15 to get your permit, it is a completely different permit test, but the same process for your driving permit. Under the age of 18, you need to have both drivers ed/behind the wheel completed, or have a license already.

Once you take the written test, you get your permit. Under the ages of 21 you must sign up for the MSF course and pass that, then take that sheet to the DMV to receive your license.

IIRC you also have to have your DL before you get your MC permit. maybe it's just your drivers permit.

and cowch you don't HAVE to take the MSF course. that's why there's so many dip****s who don't know how to ride on the road today. you only have to pass the DMV test OR take the MSF and get your piece of paper that says you know how to ride and how to ride safely. I took the MSF, took the permit test, handed the test along with my MSF paper to the lady at the DMV and got my M1 endorsement right there
