Got a CD player
Today after work I went and got myself a new CD player for my truck at a car audio place about half an hour from my house (I live out in the middle of nowhere). Anywho...cost me 190 for the CD player (a Pioneer DEH-4800MP), wiring harness, and the mounting piece for it to fit in my dash...easy to install too. I love it so far. I will have pictures when I have access to a digital camera.

The CD player itself was $159.99...little higher than most places online, but for shipping and handling it would have been about the same with a wiring harness and the dash insert. I got a 10% off coupon for my next purchase too...so I'm happy. With my next paycheck I am going to get all new speakers in my truck (4...doors are 6x9's...forget what the back ones are)...depending on how much I have left over from that and gas (60 bucks usually to fill it up from a little less than 1/4 tank) I might get a little sub box (just for 1 12 behind one of the seats), a decent sub, and a small amp. Or I might buy 2 12in MTX subs and an amp from a friend...just need to get a box that will fit. Don't know yet.
Only bad thing about it was installing it in the blazing heat. Got up into the low 90s today with like 80% humidity...got off work early (got off at noon...3 1/2 hours early) because of the heat inside the shop...up into the 100's...so I just barely had time to get to the store to buy it (closes at 2...but I had to come home to take car of some stuff first)...right after I got it I came home and installed it...even with the windows down it had to be 20 degrees hotter inside my truck than it was outside...I was dripping with sweat. And after I got home I noticed I didnt have any electrical solder left, so I just had to twist the wires together and put electrical tape around them. On Monday I am going to rip the entire thing apart again to solder the wires and get some shrink wrap on there...but might just wait until I have the speakers installed to do that.
Either way...so far I am really happy. Almost blew another speaker tonight coming home from a friends house when I was playing with the bass settings...that would have really pissed me off because 2 of them are already shot (one is completely blown...another just crackles) so I would only be running on 1 speaker for 2 weeks lol.
Oh...and if anybody is selling any 10 or 12 inch subs (1 or 2) and an amp, send me a PM...I might be interested depending on what subs they are.

i have an old system i might be willing to get rid of, still hits nice subs are in good shape, i just dont have a use for them anymore since i got my alpines... i'd get rid of subs/box/amp for 100 or less and may be able to deliver... i see you're in illinois..

i wish it was low 90s here yesterday was 102 with heat index of about 110
i have a 10"JLW0 and an 10" old school kicker comp and a samll kicker amp that would be perfect for either one of those subs or both

2 powerbass 12" subs, 250RMS/350 peak, a boss 200x4 amplifier, a home built box (cheap, and nothing pretty to look at, but it works) i'd say 115 shipped, and i may be able to deliver... so i'd say 100 delivered
they still sound good, and i just heard em (hooked em up quick in a friends car) a couple days ago, so they still are bumping nice.
