Identifying a transmission...

I have a 1994 dodge dakota 4wd crew cab, and i need to find out the transmission it has, because im doing a trans fluid change, and i need to know how many quarts i'll need. Is there a place i can type in my VIN and get it? I'd appreciate the help guys.

and no, i dont need tips on how to do it, ive done it a thousand times on other cars, but i sure as hell get a kick out of when people dump the fluid on their heads hehe.

It's going to be a version of the Torque-flight. The A500 was used in V6 Dakotas, if it is a V8 it would be an A518 (or version there-of), if it's an I4 I have no idea. That's going by memory, so you might want to double check.

You don't have the owners manual anymore? You could try calling a Napa or other auto place. They can usually look it up.
