Well maybe you should pay someone to do it..
Obviously you're pretty unclear on what you're doing if your wiring job started an electrical fire. That fire could have spread pretty quick and blown your truck up. Then you'd be posting from a hospital bed or even worse, not ever making another post again.
Just some food for thought.

ehh the thing about it is it's been ok for like a month or more now. just randomly started messin up yesterday soo i redid some of the wiring and it caught on fire =[. Can the size of the wire have anything to do with it?
gonna get some new wire and do some reading and get my auto tech teacher to help me run it to like my horn fuse or something

Post up a picture of how you wired it. Then we can tell you what's wrong.

The ground and power wire had some kind of contact. I had a similar problem in my F-150 with a Cobra CB after my shotty mounting of a ground wire layed across the power wire.
Everyone has to start/learn somwhere.

i can tell you what's wrong right now... you probably didnt use an inline fuse for the power wire, which would have prevented such an accident from happening in the first place because the fuse would have cut the power before anything got hot enough to start on fire
just a suggestion though... and seriously, i'm not trying to be an asshole or anything either, so dont take offense if it came off that way..
wal mart sells inline fuses for cheap. i've wired everything i have up with one and it's saved my ass a couple times (fuses blew for w/e reason)

^^ well it had a fuse on power wire coming off the cb....it burnt before the fuse though -.- I now rememeber that i saw a cut in my ground wire running off my pa speaker but i am a lazy ***** and didn't tape it or anything. So ima prolly get a thicker guage wire not to much bigger and actually run it right instead of running it out the edge of the door and then over and into the hood.
Basically all i do is splice the fuse into the wire close to the battery and thats all?

If you're going to be lazy and not do anything right, then don't even bother doing it.

I did read. I'm just telling you for future refrence. You don't want to take shortcuts on cars, especially when anything involved is electrical.
