Shelby GT-H Mustang...yay or nay?
I have a chance to buy one of the 2006 Shelby GT-H rental cars for a good price. Not the Shelby GT, but the real deal GT-H. Do you think it would be worth it, as a collectable, or not really? There were only 500 of them made, compared to the original GT-H (of which 1000 were made), so I'm guessing it might eventually be worth something (or at least not loose much value). Especially after Shelby kicks the bucket. So, what does PBF think?

I'd get it. I remember I saw one of them before and I really liked it.

I really don't think they will be worth much. It's an auto, and you know its been bashed on. An Automobile is a terrible investment anyways.

It's a convertible and it has a bit over 10,000 miles. It was in service for less than six months and I would have all the service records and documentation for it (it was very well maintained). The price would be under $40,000. He got two in and sold the other for $50,000, but he's a good friend of mine and knows I love mustangs, so he said he would let me buy this one for what he paid if I really want it. (Well, plus the cost of a steak dinner. )
On one hand, I really don't need it, as I've already got a convertible mustang. But, on the other hand it's a somewhat rare car and I've wanted to own one of the S197's since they came out, as I love the way they look. It's kind of a toss up. But, if it it seems like it will at least retains most of its value (like my Cobra has) I think I would go for it. However, this would mean I would hang onto my Envoy for a longer period of time, instead of looking into the Challenger/G8, which doesn't really bother me. It also means the 442 would stay my father's car, which also doesn't bother me, as he seems to have grown attached to it (and it's red, which is his color, not mine )

I'm waiting to see what my father and his buddy Lee think. If both of them say no, then I'll forget about it. If they tell me to go for it, I probably will. (If I'm lucky, my father will go in on it with me, and pay half ) Lee has made a ton of money buying and selling collector cars and has pretty much forgotten more about cars then I'll ever know, so if there was anyone that would know whether it's worth it or not, it would be him.
