Stupid Question
I blew my back driver's side speaker in my car, and I'm assuming it's just a crack in the speaker, because it always sounds like a few pieces of plastic rattling against each other. I was wondering if there was a quick fix for something like this. I know nothing about cars, car audio, or speakers in general, so my seemingly dumb question is if I removed the speaker and hot glued over the crack, would the speaker function fine afterwards?

you can try gluing it but I doubt its gonna help much especialy if its a stock speaker. Best thing would be go pick up a cheap set of replacement speakers at Wally World, BB, CC, Etc ($20-$30).

Glue won't really work, you'll need to use silicone.

I read somewhere that Loctite 410 works really well because it's rubber-based and will still stretch without breaking after it sets. Is this true? If so, does the same work for goop? Pierced, I would go get a replacement set, but I'm wicked broke so that's not really an option.

Looks like you've pretty much got it. I can't remember what exactly I used, might have been goop, but it worked real well on one of my old subs.

Thanks a lot man, I'll definitely be doing that because I really don't have the money to replace the speakers. And even if this ends up ruining it, I'm still in the same situation I am now, right?

What year vehicle is it? It may have a paper cone...........
Then no matter what you do, it still wont' sound better. Paper cones tend to fracture really easily once they are beatin on.
These were the factory speakers in my old buick...They were easily busted once they were pulled outta the car.

I had a piece of plastic on the front of my sub that came un-attached. I used a special glue called E6000. I got it at meijer, if you have those around. Walmart or similar may also have it. It is basically rubber when its dried. Worked great.
