went to Chicago today to look at a car that I saw on cars.com and loved it! It's a black 2006 Acura RSX Type S with 26,xxx miles on it. Fully loaded, body in great shape...everything really nice. Talked with them and got the price down a grand...then told them that I wanted an A-spec spoiler for it ($500 installed) so they bumped it up a bit. Got it for around $22,000 after tax, title, all that crap...pretty good deal considering that the Kelly Blue Book value of the car is like $23k without all of that stuff. I go back on Monday to pick it up and pay for the rest (paying for it in full...inheritance money from a great gma that passed away in December).

Of course I have pics...jus took them with my phone at the dealer though. I will get more and better pics on Monday after I bring the car home.

Let me know what you think. I'm going to tint the windows within a week or two of picking the car up. After that all I plan on doing are some rims (already have some picked out...black Enkei 6-spoke with a chrome lip) a Greddy Evo2 cat back exhaust, and a cold air intake...either an Injen or AEM V2

Nice car man! Very jealous but you made a nice choice. IMO for the price tag, I would have been looking for STIs. But RSXs are real nice too and I really want one for a nice DD.

I hope you got the 6-speed. IMO keep the stock wheels. Greddy EVO 2 = poop. 2.5in custom catback pick your muffler and run a hi-flow cat. CAI.. just run an eBay one they are the same thing and yield the same power. Unless you find a decent deal on one on H-T.

Im too practical to get a 2 door car though. I dig the rims too.

1337 - the 6-speed is the only tranny available for the Type S. Also, there was an STI on the lot too but it had too many miles and one of the rims was totally messed up...they also had an Evo8 but it was too pricey ($28k). Another car I was lookin at was an Infinity G35...really nice. Had low miles, black with chrome rims, 5 speed, and a good price...but as I was driving the RSX it was sold. I have liked the RSX for a LONG time though...so I'm extremely happy. Also, I don't even know if I am going to do any engine work to this yet or not...those are just some ideas.

I'm going to keep the stock rims, but use them in the winter...I have always liked black cars with black rims with chrome lips. Not sure why I have liked that but I do, and the 6 spoke Enkeis look really nice.

Yea. The price on the window was $21k but the online price was $19,800...I talked them down from the online price...so it was a little more than 2 grand less than what they were originally asking. And my insurance is going to be around $170 a month

both of those are good deals.. jesus.. some one your age trying to insure that car here in ontario would be around 275-350 at least.

Ya beat me to it man!

First off, it needs a drop. Secondly, I wouldn't go black wheels with a chrome lip-I think they are too played out, IMO. I'd go for a dark bronze for that car, personally. You have a K20, so 13s won't be extremely difficult all-motor, especially with k-pro.

Are you going to get the whole a-spec kit eventually? That will set the car off real nice.

that insurance doesn't seem bad at all...I'm considering buying a newer car sometime in the next 5-6 months, and I was thinking my insurance would be a lot higher than what yours is....are you on your parents plan?

punkdrummer - ya i want to get the a-spec lip kit eventually. I have read some stuff about k-pro and think it sounds like a pretty good investment but I dont know if im going to yet or not.

mluh - i have my insurance through the same people that all of my fams vehicles are on along with out home owners insurance. since we have all of our insurance through them its a little lower and since i have good grades that helps. that rate is with a speeding ticket on it too...a 79 in a 55 one lol.

oh and ya I would drop it but where i live it would tear the **** out of the stock bumper...it would really fubar a lip kit if I put on on. I don't know why but I have always liked black with black rims...but i have seen some black cars with the bronze rims and liked them...but I don't know if I would do it. I'm just not a huge fan.

After I did some readin and whatnot I would probably just save a **** load of cash and invest in the k-pro, along with some form of f/i with everything it would need to run nice and smooth...along with a race header and new exhaust. I really like the sound of superchargers and I know jackson racing makes a couple for the RSX and they come with everything...like new belt, the pulleys you want so you can run the psi you want, the bigger fuel injectors, and fuel management which i think is on k-pro anyway. I say some videos of supercharged RSX's and they are damn quick...and i love the sound of them for some reason.

Me, my parents, and my girlfriend drove to Chicago today to pick it up. When I saw it I went nuts...def looks a lot better with the A-Spec spoiler on there. As soon as I got home I started taking pics of it...so here they are!

And one of my and my gf sitting in it before we left the car lot

lol..hey thanks aaron. Oh and 1337...no...haha and I don't plan on it either. One of the local cops was mean muggin me like no other yesterday when he saw me driving it. He hates all the high school kids that have nice looking cars or trucks or cars or trucks with loud exhausts or stereos...he knows my truck REALLY well. He has pulled me over a couple times in my truck for my pipes and my stereo so when he saw me in this car he was staring me down hard core.

I got a lot of compliments on it at school today though...and 5 people offered to race me lol. Friend of mine with an SRT-4, another friend of mine with a newer Grand Prix GTP, another friend of mine with a base 06 monte carlo said she wanted to race me, a kid that has a Z24 cavalier thinks his car can take mine (all he has is a fart can...and its an auto), and the other kid has a Mercedes Benz Kompressor. Oh I almost forgot...a kid with a super riced out neon that thinks his car is AMAZING wants to race me too...he thinks his stock 95 (all he has is a fart can) is one of the nicest cars in the parking lot.

I got that **** too when I brought my mustang back.

Find the fastest car in your HS you can beat, and make it an UNDOUBTFULL win. First weekend with mine, I took out a 99 GSX with an aftermarket tubro kit that some Sophmores parents bought for him, and no one has even offered to race me since. Now I can always tell my kids I had the fastest car in my High School.

Haha. I'm not too worried about having the fastest car in school. Plus...the roads around here are TERRIBLE to race on. I would never race on any of the roads in my county pretty much because of how rough and how many potholes all the roads have. The only roads that are smooth are full of twists and turns or are just too damn hilly to race on. Having the fastest car in school really isn't important to me at all anyway. I like my car more than any other car in the parking lot...which is what really matters to me...not if it's faster.

Although...I was told today that aaron (kid with SRT-4 at my school) and tyler (kid with GTP) were talking about my car a lot yesterday. Aaron was pissed off I guess that he read online that my car has 210hp stock...and his has 230hp stock...and he has a turbo pushing about 16 pounds of boost. Tyler was suprised at how much horsepower my car had too...considering his car has a supercharged V6 and it only makes about 260hp. I guess both of them were talking about what it would be like if I put a turbo or supercharger on my car and they were looking up videos on youtube. Kind of make me laugh...
