Finally sold the DSM
Parted all my performance parts out and just had the car left. Bolted up a good running 7bolt motor but haven't dropped it in the car at all. I threw the car on eBay just to get rid of it. I was willing to take anything I could get for it. Well someone bid on it and sent me a few questions, so I gave him my phone number. Talked to him over the phone and chatted for a while. I told him that I'm going to college and that I had other priorities rather then a car. He said he had a lot of respect for that and pretty much offered to pay what I wanted for the car. I had my reserve at $2500 and a Buy It Now for $2900. So I said hell lets just meet half way and go $2700. He said deal and we'll go from there.
He's already sent me a $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal and is picking the car up on Sunday and paying the rest of the amount then. The car is a rolling shell right now, I'm just tired of dealing with it. Honestly I'm just scared I'd put everything back together just for something to go wrong and not have the money to fix it. At $2700 I'm taking quite the loss, but so be it. He made it pretty clear that he had money, he's fixing the car up for his 15 year old daughter. I told him everything that I knew about the car and the auction said "Everything is described and sold to the best of my knowledge, and is sold in AS-IS condition". I told him every little and last detail that I could remember.
I'm glad to see it gone. It crankwalked and spun a rod bearing on Christmas, so it's been over 6 months of just sitting in my garage/driveway. I've had the car for a year, and I'd say out of that year, I've only driven it about 3 months. Pretty ****ing sad..
I'll be back into a DSM someday. I just can't handle it right now with school and not having a daily driver. I think when I move to Manhattan I'll buy a 1G Shell and work on it for a couple years, then bring it back to KC. Or wait till I get a good paying job and get an LS1 or even a Supra if I can afford it.
As far as a new car right now, pretty much just looking into Civics and Accords. I really want an EG hatch. Hard to find something nice with a $3k budget. I'm also afraid I'll go crazy and boost the Honda!

Sucks that you had to let it go, but its time to move on with something else. But, if you do get a honda, it will be tempting to boost it. Otherwise, leave it stock, and save your dollars.

Lol nah.. I'd rather turbo the bike then the EG. Then again, I don't know.
I could turbo the EG for $500 or so.. if it's got a healthy motor I may just have to do it.

Besides... I really want another 4G63 if I decide to go boost. I think in a couple years I'll be building a DSM from scratch.

I was actually running a d-series motor w/pistons from a suzuki vitara mated to tuner toys rods, which are just eagle rods that are branded differently. I actually never got the car running and sold it to get a talon. It's
running right now on 23psi and flat out scoots.
As for turbo, nothing big, just a t3/t4 to4e 57 trim. Little on the laggy side, but would do the job just fine

Watch your ass and don't speed too bad on roads you know they patrol often. Aint that hard not to get caught.

I've yet to be ticketed. I topped my grandma's cavalier out at 107 downhill on a highway known for cops. I didn't get caught, but I know I would have of been ****ed if I was.
