Got my Cherokee
So after about 5 months of looking, I finally found my car. It is a '93 4.0 Cherokee, what I've wanted for a while. The exhaust manifold needs to be replaced because it makes a slight ticking noise, but other than that it runs amazing. It had a little accident a while back and its got a little bit of body damage, but when you are in it you cant really tell. I guess I'll just get to the pics.
Oh yeah. It has a 2" suspension lift and 31" tires that need to be replaced. The tires sit on off-set American racing rims. Power doors, windows, and seat. Also has a remote start. It's nice automobile and I love the thing. I had a police run in today, but that goes in the lounge.

There are about 123,500 on it now. I hit 123,456.7 just the other day actually.
What do you think something like this is worth, or how much do you think I payed?

At the most, $3k. Realistically, roughly $2000 - $2500 because of the economy. Not a bad Jeep, but you have no right to ***** about gas prices just an FYI.

You won't catch me complaining about them, trust me.
I payed $750 for it. She wanted 1500 originally but a month later I had her offer 1000. I offered 700 and we ended up at 750. Because I only had $100's and 20's I ended up paying like 747 because my dad gave her everything he had, which was 7 bucks.
I've been driving it around a lot recently, and I love the ****in thing. Took it offroading twice already. It has only been registered for 3 days.

I've got a few questions about this beast. What would you do to it if you had it? (asking everyone) I am not sure what to install into the thing. I want to have something to make the front tires stretch more like that above pic but I don't know what upgrade that is called. Also I am thinking about putting a sound system in but it might be pointless, considering the fact that it was an 800 dollar car.
I was thinking maybe a roof rack, one of the long rectangular ones people get. Also, a body lift or some roof lights were on my list. What should be done first? What shouldn't be done at all?
Also, I figured I would throw this in here:

Body lifts are retarded, they do nothing but show that you're a "bro". Many companies out there make very cheap 4" or so suspension lifts, that's what I would definately go for. And throw in a little bigger meat. If you're strapped for cash, look on craigslist for some low mileage, bigger mud tires.
I would do a 4" suspension lift, bigger meat, a roofrack, a beefy front bumper, and a decent system. All can be had for pretty cheap too.

Also keep an eye on your drivetrain angles if you go bigger than 4".
That's exactly what I would do as well.

My dad is being a tool and telling me I can't buy more anything for it. It's bull**** because I payed for it, but he gets to decide what goes in or on it. I'm pissed.
I picked up 4 new firestone all-terrains installed for 630. My dad called it a deal but I dont ****ing know.
My parents want me to get rid of them now because they seem to be too big for the body and my dad calls them unsafe. I figure if I pick the body up 2 inches then it wouldn't rub anymore. It has a slight rub but it isnt a big deal. I told him I'd lift it a little more so my tires fit and he told me no. Firestone wont take them back I am sure because I already took it through a nice bit of mud so they blended in with the dirty truck.

Your dad is a giant *pause* douche *pause* bag.
Tires in no way make a car unsafe. However, body lifts or even suspension lifts not done properly can be dangerous.

you'll never body lift a cherokee because it's a unibody (frame and body are one giant piece) and if i were you i'd leave it how it is.. you've got a great setup to play with. mine's sitting stock, and i've never had a problem getting stuck or had a bad time off the road.. all you need is a nice set of a/t's.
on an xj, when your lift exceeds 3" you're going to want to look into a trasfer case drop or an SYE
change the front and rear diff fluid, and tranny fluid because it's probably never been done
check your pcv valve to make sure it's clean unless you like oil all over your air filter
and i'm sure i'll come up with other things the longer i sit and think... lol

Nice man thanks. The the lady I bought it from was really smart about it and knew mad **** about it. She said she did mad **** to it to keep it up like changing all the fluids. You could tell that the guy before her off-roaded it though. I'll do that **** though. My dad is a douche and the mechanic at Firestone, a good friend of my dads, said that the tires are fine and any rubbing is minor. He told me that if I do anything, I should lift it a little bit. Pretty sweet in my opinion, but I haven't mentioned it to my dad.
