This should be interesting...
Alrighty let me explain my situation. Right now I drive a 99 Sentra. I get 40 mpg, low insurance, and it's all paid off. I have a new job lined up and hopefully I'll be starting soon. When I do, my income will jump substantially, and I'll be able to have a fun car too in addition to the DD. So, what would you guys get?
My thoughts so far are:
G37
Maybe a big truck(Chevy 2500)
I won't be making a choice/decision for a couple months, but I'm researching and thinking.
I ruled out so far all sedans. Also, 350z is out, along with the challenger/charger, wrx/sti(UGLY), and Evo's(overpriced).
Also thinking a 240 with a RB swap, or something ridiculous like that. I really want a new car though.

I would NOT get the G37. I know a guy who bought one and it's been nothing but troubles and headaches since he's had it. Especially with the dealer he got it from ****ing him over numerous times. Plus his payments are like 800/month.
I say EVO or STI. 04' or 05' on either one.

My payments would be lower, but thanks for the heads up.
I thought of that with the sti or evo, my only beef is they are gonna be beat to **** if they are used. If I'm shellin out that much, I want it to be new.
Another idea was a s/c stang. I would go cobra but thats a little out of budget. I got plenty of time though.

Well what exactly are you wanting out of a new car? Strictly speed? Looks? Luxury?
You could just pick up a 97+ GSX and do a 6bolt swap. HX40R Turbo, LOTS of fuel and tuning and run low 11's. Basically, my dream haha.

Buddy of mine just picked up a fully loaded 6.0L GTO for $18,000 with 15,000 miles on it. It's a nice car, very comfortable, rides very nice, and gets pretty good gas mileage for 400hp (16 city/25 highway). Doesn't take much to get them to 450+ hp either.

Meh, IMO a Camaro SS or Trans Am WS6 would be much nicer/cooler. Never got too hooked on GTOs... though I'd love to have one.

I would say Challenger, but all of them that have been made/making are all claimed already. So it would possibly be difficult to get. And I wouldn't suggest a big truck unless you have a purpose for getting one.

Big truck means I can pull a big boat...
Challenger is meh. I'll have to drive one before I go for it.
I want speed and luxury. Something to cruise in, but have some go if i want. Like a TT350z. Smooth ride, but if I get on it, it gets goin. If I save for another year I could swing a 335xi. That'd be ****ing banging.
Or just buy a decent car and save for a house. Which is probably the best plan but I want something fun first.

Yeah, my garage.
Supra's are fanboy cars, Rotarys blow seals, most new muscle cars blow and have 4 doors...Just make a fast f***ing diesel. Its NOT HARD!
Also, an HX40 turbo is stock on Dodge CUMMINS 12v's made by HOLSETT.

That is not out of my mind. If I go truck, I wouldn't go super extreme only because I'd be buying a boat too which would be a heavy chunk of change.

You wouldnt have to. Any modern diesel like a 6.0 ford, 5.9 24 valve dodge or the 6.6 Chevy can be made CRAZY powerfull/fast when stacking a chip and a programmer. On the fly EFI adjustments, go from stock to shock with a couple clicks of a button, and all with little to no supporting mods. A chip, programmer, intake, exhaust and injectors diesel will hook and run with almost all the cars listed above, be comfortable as hell (to me anyways), and be there for all the work or play you could want.

If it's just a toy and not a daily driver, you could always think outside the box and go with something that isn't "the latest and greatest." Here's some other ideas:
