I would have to say R1 would be my favorite. As with one that I could buy or have a decent bike, GSX-R600 would be my pick. That would probably be enough power for me.

aprillia....now being resonable. love me the new 1000rr. thing is fast as well. hayabusa=joke..sure its cool seeing a bike do 200+ mph but you need perfect conditions unless you like laying face down on the pavement.
R1 and 1000r from yamaha and honda are nearly the same bike. I would take either equally.

Of course, I wouldn't mind having an Augusta, either.

Ducatis are like most women, expensive, and require a lot of maintenance. Suzuki makes the best bikes on Earth. Period. End of sentance.Nothing more needs to be said. Close the thread. Nothing matters aother than the GSX-R.

Question, how many of you actually ride?
I have ridden about every make of sportbike, except the new hondas.
Each bike has good qualities.
The busa, while wicked fast in the straights, is to big and heavy to really get into corners and put a knee down.
The R1, with quick throttle response, and good breaking, sits a little high for me, feels like the center of gravity is to high to get comfortable at speed around corners.
The older Hondas, are just plain uncomfortable, yet powerful.
The best bike all around, GSX-R 1000. Suzuki makes no bones about it. What they do is take their race bike, make it street legal, and sell it. When a company has the motto, "Own the Race Track", that tells you that they have their heads in line.
The GSX-R 1000 has great response off the line, excellent cornering, great breaking and the riding position is comfortable for longer rides. The GSX-R has also won more awards that any other Sport bike.
just my 2 cents worth.

I'm forgetting all about Kawasaki. A ZX-10R will beat an R1 easily.
Just imagine a ZX-13R. Kawasakis use to rule the racetrack but then Suzuki started making the brilliant GSX-R 1000. The CBR 1000 is right next to it. They are basically equalivelent.
But, the GSX-R600 is the fastest 600cc bike you can get.
Sure Yamaha's are sweet, but they are just like the dirtbikes, they have a tendency to break down often.

Seriously? Because insurance on a motorcycle is so pointless. IF you crash, you're dead most likely.
