Camaro at the Dragway[Pics]

Well it was street night, and that means it's time fo' my dad and me to head up and see what his '67 Camaro can do. He went up 5 times, only got pic of 3.

There he is the first time on the line.

Oooo, just under 14 flat. Console slid and he went from 1st to 3rd!!!

Givin' it another go.

Snap! 13.3!! Again slipped from 1st to 3rd.

A Cool Chevelle SS!

Only ran 15!!

Sweet, a Big Rig!!

Awesome end of the day burnout from a Ranger.

After the first two times it got dark and lighting was bad so no pics. Also on the third time he jammed the console so it didn't slide back and he did really good. He was one of the top ten cars, but most were stock street cars...Damn Snowmobiles ran 10's!!

Final Results:

Best ET: 13.112
Fastest: 105.24
Fastest off the line: 5.49

If anyone wants proff i can get pics of the slips of hs time and stuff. Also, I have TWO Quicktime vids that need to be hosted if anyone wants to volunteer!! Also, he can't go back anymore, under 13.5 needs a rollcage and he isn't gettin' one.

Nice, daddy should have let you take a pass. What the rig get btw? I've seen some crazy diesels, full size trucks running numbers that would be pretty darn good in a car nevermind a truck.

By the way, the guy in the Chevelle can't drive. That is a '70 or '71 with the 454 if the engine wasn't changed. If it wasn't automatic he should be running atleast in the low 14's, with low 13's being great. My cousin has a '69 with a 400 he restored and a '70 SS 454 he is working on now. He took the '69 to English town and was running in the 14's no problem. (And he isn't exactly the best out there)

By the way, I have the same problem with my Cobra. Being the car is capable of mid/high 12's in stock form they won't even let me run it without a cage. Kinda sucks, but then again I guess it's for the better since I don't want to kill it.

I haven't been out to the strips in a long time. I need to go out there again, I miss seeing all that.

I never got the chance to run it, I asked and they said no. I've seen convertibles set up like mine running between 12.6 and 12.9, so I know I could probibly do in the 13's and not really hurt anything (on the car or in the stands). But the guy at check in wasn't letting me slide at all. I asked my father if he would ask if he could run it too. I know he is awesome at power shifting from 30 years of driving trucks, but he didn't want to try it. Probibly because it is still under warrenty and he doesn't want to void it. He is pretty anal about that.

I really want to see what our '64 single axel Brock could run. In the 70's my grandfather took the cummins diesel out of the '69, turbo'ed it, and stuck it in the '64 so he could pull the new super wide trailor he bought at 70mph. Without a trailor I know it can do 90 mph without to much strain, I think it could do a pretty good run if nothing breaks. The heavy rear that is in there puts a lot of weight right on the drive wheels giving good traction without a trailor.
