On average 2003/2004 Cobra's are 80-90hp more then an SS Camaro both in stock form. Also, the 2002 Cobra R/2003/2004 models are on average mid 12 second to low 13 second cars, while an SS is mid 13 to high 13. Not talking about any modifications (stock to stock) Cobra's of those years can consistantly beat an SS with same skill drivers.
LS1s, especially the last few years, have near 350 HP, the Firehawk/SS/WS6 have 360+, and run roughly low 13s (12s in factory freaks), stock. FACT. Here's some numbers from the people themselves:

The only year Cobras outran GMs is with a blower. Cobras never beat Skull-1, except for my friend Cobra Bill's SN95 with lots of goodies.

Oh well. Long live V8s.

Lets look at RWHP:
According to your info there on average stock '98/'99 LS1 with man-trans were making about 295RWHP, 2000 Cobra R's put down about 380RWHP and they were N/A, 2003/2004 Cobra's put down on average 385RWHP. "The only year Cobras outran GMs is with a blower." Not true, the R's did it a few times and they are N/A, no supercharger or turbo, just 5.4L.

Anyway, how much $$ did you put in your F-bod? I know a kid with a Camaro that stuck a 502 inside. He had his dyno papers showing 500RWHP, now that thing is amazing. He drives it everyday too! Now that is one F-bod I wouldn't touch. His brother has a Lightning that has run 11.92 at English town. If you guys want to see them I have pictures somewhere.

GMMG does some nice work, a while back at Lime Rock I saw a Z28 they put one of their packages in. Nice clean job, reminds me of SLP's work, I do wonder what they are going to do in a few years if GM doesn't bring the Camaro back. I mean, there is only so many people that want/ can afford modifications like that. I heard if they might bring it back though either as the Camaro name or Chevelle, it depends on how the goat does though....which isn't that hot right now.

As to my '03 Cobra, it is still under warrentee so I can't do to much to it right now. All I have done is a CAI with K&N cone, Bassani road legal X-pipe, and Freeflow American Thunder (I like it loud, but not overly loud). It is about as much as the dealer will let me do and still be under (I asked if I can do some computer tuning and the guy looked like he was going to kick me out 0? ). On the dyno jet running BP gas it made 405-420RWHP, I haven't run it yet, English town wouldn't let me run it because it is a vert without a cage capable of running under 13.5 or something like that. Some stupid NHRA rule.

How often do you replace the NGK plugs? I was thinking of putting them in, but I can't figure out if it is worth it to put them in and have to change them more often or keep the platnum ones in there. Platnum doesn't work as well from what I heard, but they last so long it is amazing and for what I use the car for I can't decide if it is worth it.

come on jin, you know better than that! the mustangs and camaros have been rivals forever. but thanks for putting the pony car in the same league as a sports car

I've never driven either, but I have been in a cousin's Saleen mustang, and that was fun.

Oh, and people don't race dynos, so the only numbers that should be put up should be on little slips with the letters E.T. next to them

I've used the same ones for almost exactly 3 years. Got em for nitrous, but I've never sprayed due to lack of time and motivation of a hidden installation. They're needed to prevent detonation, which I guess in your case would be a neccesitation. It's a big pain in the ass to change em out anyways, even with headers.

Oh, and when you can hook, it doesn't matter what the ET is (except for Supras). Not everyone (like me) can get an accurate ET without being close to sea level.

Meh, maybe I'm just thinking back too far or something. My dad is a big Vette guy, and he tells me about how he would dominate the Stangs. Then when the Cobra came out it was bad news. Cobra = Vette killer.
