I'm doing a 4 inch lift, trimming the fenders, and 36" Hawgs. That's the reason I haven't even got some decent tires yet.

that jeep needs a few mods... lift it and make some quick disconnects for the sway bar.

Yeah, that's what I told him. He really doesn't wheel that much though, just pulls his boat, so he doesn't see a need for anything.
He used to wheel all the time, was second in the state a long time ago.

i have an 87 cherokee, ive been working on it for a bit, changed the closed coolant system to open, did a junkyard suspension lift (3" give in rear take touch in front) using S-10 leafs and 78 f150 coils. put a tranny drop plate in (need to rust proof em before winter). still havent gotten shocks.. i have two 60lb bags of concrete in the rear to stop the shocks from limiting out LOL.
plan on making the quick disconnects when i get home.
only wheeling ive done is a touch in the mud to set up duck blinds and other small things.

I need to either get a nice truck to trailer my K5 with, or get a beater rig so I don't tear up my daily driver.
I'd love to get a new Dodge with the Cummins in it.

the dodge's have had tranny problems, not sure if they still do... my dads 00 dodge ram with the magnum v8 had problems twice with the transmission.

Yeah, a friend of mine bought a brand new Ram with a Hemi and blew the tranny the first time he pulled a trailor, but on another side another friend got a Ram 3500 w/ Cummins and pulls 2 cars/trucks at a time and hasn't had any problems with his tranny. I guess the Chevy w/ Allison tranny would be the best bet though.

your dad needs to put at least 38"s on that jeep, and some better suspension, and a big ass lift kit. is the wheel actually up on the fender?

Nah, I doubt the stock axles on the Jeep would handle 38s. I think he should get a really good kit with 33s. He'll get alot more travel, and the 33s will be perfect on it.
It was tucked up in the fender flare, I'm not sure if it actually rubbed or not.

You shouldnt go bigger than 33"s without regearing. Im trying to get my mom to sell me her cherokee, cause i take it out so much. I love wheeling, nice pics and nice rig slipknot!

I really wish they kept the blazer, it was probibly one of the best trucks ever made, especially for off roading. If they made a diesel version of the Tahoe with a removable back and roof like the old blazers that would be pretty close, but there isn't anything out there like the Blazer anymore. The Ford Bronco concept looked promising, but a 4-cyl turbo diesel doesn't. Atleast make it a 6.
