That occoured in World Rally Championship. Believe it or not, the driver and codriver walked away from this. Mitsubishi is retireing for the rest of the 2004, because they have only finished one rally with one car. They've had a very difficult time finishing any of the rallies, and have been beaten frequently by privateers (people who enter, and aren't supported or sponsered by companies). And 2 years ago, Mitsu used a larger engine than permitted, and was banned from WRC for last year. They came back, and broke their cars... Oh well, hopefully they'll be back next year and do better.

yea i dont watch rally racing too much but sometimes i catch a race on the speed channel and i watch for a few minutes. It seems like mitsu has some really bad drivers, and subaru dominates the races

Actually, this year Pugeot(sp) and Ford are the main teams this year. Subaru has been doing okay, and have recently dominated the Japan Rally, but Pugeot has just been taking names.

Mitsubishi's rally program has been a joke the past few years. I'm glad they stopped for this year, but they shouldn't be doing it for R&D; they should be working on getting out of their debt.

Anyways, as much as I love Subaru, I'm glad to see Pugeot doing well. They have been in the fight for a long time, they have deserved it.

Mitsu use to dominate a few years back, but as said, they have been in shambles recently.

Do you know anything about Rally? Cuz if you did you would know the Lancer Evo (Evolution) is one of the best rally cars ever made. As I said, they dominated the circuit a year or two ago, but now they're having bad luck and major problems.

It's definately not the cars fault. I mean, they may not be the best cars (right now, that is) but the Evo can definately keep up with the winners.

I bet my 300ZX would too. Or at least close to it. I'd check, but I don't feel like winding out the engine that much. Not the best thing in the world for it.

Well, I actually do know about Rally... And I know that the Lancer Evo, was one of the better of the cars made. However, they were caught with a larger engine than permitted. They came back after a 2 year ban from WRC, this time, with a legal engine, and what do you know? Their car can't win.

They didn't win most of the time because they wrecked a lot. Looks like they gotta get the reliablity up...

Have you ever (legally) raced anything? I don't think you have, because if you did you would know/realize that everyone has a thing called 'bad luck'. Bad luck occurs whether you have the best equipment and drivers or not. Just because they wind up breaking something or wrecking a car does not mean their cars and drivers suck, it merely means they are having a bad season and cannot get a break. So next time I would use some facts to back up your claim about Mitsubishi rally cars sucking.

Yeah exactly. It could do 65 in 2nd but maybe he just has high gearing ratios, and the thing tops out at 125 or something.

My car does 90 in 3rd and I still have 3 more gears. That doesn't prove anything.
