Looks like the camaro will be back for '07 on the Zeta platform. However, all are saying it isn't going to be the machine it once was. There isn't any plan to produce a model to compete with the Cobra. The plaan so far is the Camaro's will be made to fit inbetween the new Mustang GT and the Corvette performance wise (350hp?), with the GTO being the competition for the Cobra. The zeta platform is going to be used for a new Buick with plans to use it later on for the GTO.

So, basically it is looking like this on the performance scale:

Mustang GT (300hp), Camaro(350hp?), GTO(400hp), Corvette(400hp), '07 Charger (425hp), GTO Judge(500hp Z06 motor?), Z06 Corvette (500hp)

The Cobra though can fit in anywhere, it hasn't been anounced yet how it will work between SVT and Shelby. Though the thought is two high performance stangs will be produced. A GT350 and a GT500 both being of the Cobra designation. (It is said the GT 350 will have a street legal version of the cammer motor around 420-440hp, with the GT500 having the 550hp Ford GT motor) A Boss model is possible in place of the Mach too.

edit: forgot about the new 6.1L 425hp Hemi Charger.

yeah the camaro is nice....i knew chevy could not keep them out long.

Not to mention the Chevelle ill be back soon also as they have produced the GTP and from what i have read the GTO and chevelle will share the same chassis and similar body lines along with the powertrain.

all in all the old school muscle will be back....but less powerful due to emissions and other bull$hit

i am a hardcore camaro fan (and damn) i cant belive that it looks like that, i think that does look sweet but no one can touch my 69 camaro (casue it dont run yet hahaha)

I won't make enough in 3 years of army service to afford one of those....sad.
anyway if they bring back the charger I wanna see the nova back too.i want it too look cool like it did have balls like it did but have todays needs like gas efficency and stuff too.

I must say it looks soo much better than the new stangs. I also can't wait for the new chevelle to come out, I've seen concept pics of them, they don't look too bad. If I had the cash, there would be a spot in my garage for that.

I dunno man.. that does not look that nice. I would not buy one, even though i love american cars. If i had the choice to buy that car, i do not think i would.

well as much as we may ***** about it, the closest we'll get to older-looking cars are things like this...

i do like the sharp lines though, definitely a great step forward from the bubbles-on-wheels concepts everyone seems to be coming out with. it looks better than the new mustang, is 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better lookin than the gto. of course the pic is computer-generated and they're always tweaked here and there before they're debuted, and almost always look better in person. so we'll see when it happens. I won't be able to get one cuz I'll be a junior in college, and can hardly afford ramen noodles for breakfast

Those were the kids concept drawings based off of Ferraris. Not bad, but again it really is a Ferrari design.

Anyway, I really like the look of the new mustang, I don't know why no one seems to like it. I saw one in person and it looks absolutely amazing. It looks tough like an old muscle car, not like every other car on the road like the GTO. It stands out in a good way. I like the camaro concept, but it just doesn't look like a camaro should to me. It looks more like a 350Z with a new front end kinda. It looks a little out of proportion to me, like the front end should be a little bit longer. I don't know, I like it, but I don't love it.

Gm actually does have something real nice looking coming out soon. The Solstice roadster is amazing looking. In person it doesn't have the chick car look like the miata, it looks wide and low like a viper, real sharp looking. I can't wait until that comes out with the 240hp or more hp motor. With a motor around 250hp, the looks, and the low weight that car should be a hit. Even with 170hp in base form it shouldn't be a slouch and should handle nice.

For me it would probibly depend on the year, anything pre 1970 I would have to go with the old camaro. If it was a post 1970 camaro compared to that then I might have to put some real thought into my choice.
