Go-Kart
Well my friend is fixing his current go-kart which goes about 25 but it can go 35 if you push it a little. It has all terain tires and he might sell it to me for $200-300...is this a good deal? I think it is...I might go up there this weekend and test it out...cuz he has 2 so I can choose.
I'm also getting another deal for a go-kart, it goes about 20 and it has a plastic frame but it's in good condtion..he's selling that one for $150-200 and I was thinking about upgrading the engine and frame maybe.
Any upgrades I should get after I get it? Also what do you think, which one should I get, pros and cons?

$200-300 for a go-kart that does 25/35? Wow...um...yeah. What size engine? Cuz that is really slow, and a bit high of a price if you ask me.
Depending on what engine is on there now I might be able to help you pick some parts for it that will push it a bit faster.
By the way, if you have any other go-kart related questions just ask me, I've been racing them proffesionally for 6 years, and I just moved up to a bigger class this year. So I got quite a few left over parts and plenty of tips and info.
Oh yeah and where do you live? I got a racing go-kart for sale if you're interested. It's a bit more expensive but it'll go as fast as your wallet can afford. It's more for racing rather than fields, though.

jin, my neighbor in SC used to be into that, Those go-carts are CRAZY fast. they are a real adrenaline rush
I used to have a big off-road cart w/ a 6HP engine, but i tore it out, put a 13 HP in, upgraded the driveline and put disk brakes on it,
Then sold it
Then bought a dune buggy off e-bay for like $700 and fixed it up
had it for like 2 months, then sold it

Well the dude that's selling the non-plastic ones ain't sure if he can sell it, his dad is thinking about still. So I just might buy the plastic one and pimp it out...metal frame...new engine...etc etc. I live in Columbus, Ohio and I really would like 2 buy some spare parts and upgrades.

I wouldn't pay 200 bucks for a junker like that. I had a friend who used to race not pro or anything but had a really nice little kart. Its crazy to go on the racer carts because your doing like 60 mph and only like 2 inches off the ground. We had alot of fun around his block with that. Insane excelleration I couldn't believe how much pick up that little thing had.
My neighbors own the kart ranch in okoboji if anyones been there. probably not..anyway there son is a little younger than me and likes me so when hes working the karts he takes a screw driver to the back of them and pulls the govenor spring way out. those karts are fast as hell. I couldn't believe how quick they could go. It wasn't the same as the racer cart but it was also about twice as heavy. We used to love kicken around on those.

Well I might talk with him and we maybe can lower it to about $100-150 depending on its condtion, year, mileage, and how much they bought it for. I might go look and try it out tomorrow. I hear it's kinda small and the spolier falls off when it stops..but i'll still check it out.
