Suggestions on new system

Well, winter is comin up and I don't wanna get any type of rims or hood or anything for my car since it'll just get wrecked with winter and I can't do much with engine work yet since its still under warranty so I wanna put a real nice system in my car the right way. I have a 2001 Cavalier, 2 door coupe. I need help though, being as I don't know a lot about car audio. My friend has a Pioneer Headunit and all JL Audio throughout and its really nice, I wanna do the same, just not same headunit exactly, you know. Anyways, it has 2 oval speakers in the door panel, one in each, and 2 oval(same size) behind the back seat facing up towards the rear-window. My questions are where can I get the adaptor for the regular sized headunit to fit my car(GMC Made), what kind of amp, speakers, etc. Doesn't have to be JL or Pioneer, but nothin ****ty. I got all winter to save for this, and I'm planning on doing all of it in one shot with my pops and his buddy that specializes in this. He's gonna help, but I was just lookin for another source of imput. Thanks fellas.

I was lookin on his site but to me it doesnt' look like car audio to me. Then again, I don't really know much about car audio, I know more about the mechanics of the car. What's his AIM.

lol i like what i see

yea madison isnt technically made for cars (the woofers require slightly larger boxes... you just have to get the biggest one you see in the store pretty much) but you get something that is a lot more robust, with what i think has a better sound quality too

you see, car woofers have small voice coils. dont know why , but they do. because of this, they cant dispense heat wll, and thats why you see a lot of guys talking about the woofers they burned out.

madison woofers are pro audio woofers, and they are made to be bumped hard for hours on end becuase they are in dj systems and stuff. They have voice coils that are twice as big or even bigger than most car woofers, and can take a pounding for much longer before crapping out.

So yea, if you can handle putting in a good sized commercial box, then madison subs are the way to go (especially since you can even ge a 21" from me for $250 shipped. I can get you two good 300 watts 12's for $120... the list of deals continues..)

so hit me up on aim sometime at nuears17, email me at sales@audiobin.com, or pm me again if you wanna talk

I find it best to stay with one brand throughout your whole system. They work better with each other that way.

xm dude. xm equiped is where its at. I just got a new 6 disk for the bonne and am planning on getting the xm hooked up by next friday. Its crazy how much is on the radio stations and for under 10 a month it gets used.

find a head unit that has xm and drop the 10 bucks a month.
