Reball and Lazerball: A Review

Couldn't decide between here and the Anything Else forum. This looks good though.

Purpose:

The purpose behind using these products was to raise money for the club.
The purpose of this review is to compare ReBall and Lazerball non-paint paintballs.

Conditions:

Indoor gym/basketball court rigged with make-shift bunkers.
Room temperature, ~70 sounds good. Unknown humidity. Slight breeze from the vent system at non constant times.

Materials:
1 ReBall Pod Pack (140)
1 Lazerball playerpack (100)

1 Torch's Tippmann 98c
1 Torch's SL-68-II
3 E-spyders - 2x Imagine and one older model. Various mods.
1 Mech. Piranha
1 Handheld Chronograph
CO2 tanks all around
All markers were chrono'd. The span went from 190-230 with the target velocity being 210-220.

Impressions
The following is based on our results during normal use and not on actual testing for the sake of testing. Your results may differ.

Reball

- Dense. It is hard to squeeze them. They bounce very well off of hard(er) objects.
- More Expensive. Compared to the Lazerballs, they are around double the cost.
- Flight. They fire just like a normal paintball would. They seem to weigh in about the same as a normal paintball (note: not actually weighed). They arc as expected and do not usually curve.
- Seams. The seams are smooth, probably more than some paint. The overall surface is also smooth.
- Pain. At the velocity above, a hit from normal range felt like a bounce from a normal paintball. Welts seem to look the same as well.
- Color. They were yellow, as pictured by Centerflag.
- Bore. I don't have the tools on me to measure these. I might bring some with me to the lab tomorrow and see if I can't find a pair of calipers or other device. They were small enough to roll out of a J&J Ceramic.
- Package. They came in a good quality pod which holds all of them. The pod was shipped in a normal shipping box.

Lazerball

- Foamy. I can squeeze these to almost flat between my thumb and index finger. They also bounce well but not as much as a reball, making it easier to keep track of them.
- Less expensive. Less expensive than ReBall, by about half.
- Flight. These sometimes fly right. However at least half of my shots did not go where I would have liked them to. Random curves were seen all day long. Also, some shots simply poped from the barrel to travel all of 15 feet. These seem lighter weight and the surface is not quite as smooth as a Reball. Small dimples can be seen.
- Seams. The seams were in good order, and the balls were round. However they easily deform if pressed on, so one can assume they do so under firing and flight as well.
- Pain. Pain was lacking on most hits. At worst you will have a small light bruise. On the other hand, you might not even feel most hits. I was shot in the neck by my target while I was jumping his short little bunker. It may have hit my mask first, but I barely felt it. When testing in a smaller room, the volunteer targets had small bruises.
- Color. These were blue. The photographs on the sellers website show orange ones.
- Bore. Once again, I was not able to measure them. I will try to do so this week. They were large enough that we had no roll outs.
- Package. These came packaged in a plastic bag with care instructions attached. The bag was shipped in a normal shipping box.
