is a freak just a back with a teardrop front?

out of those selected I would suggest the progressive. price per performance wise.
A freak is a back that accepts inserts. the front can be either teardrop or All American.
The all american is basicly a Freak back with the 689 insert, but one piece, with an All American front.
I use a freak, and love it. If you were to choose an All American, I would suggest a freak Jr. Thats a freak with 1 insert. you can then purchase inserts as you need them and your barrel kit will grow with you.

if you are tight on money go with the progressive. like 5 bucks less than the teardrop and the only difference is porting. i have a progressive on my spyder and it works very nicely. go with a 12 inch.
