Does length matter?
I'm going to buy a J&J ceramic barrel for my ion. I was jw if there's going to be any difference in performance(accuracy, range, etc.) between the 12in and the 14in barrel? (the 14in ones are out of stock)

no difference in range or preformance. After i think 8in the ball just starts to slow. Get what ever side suites ur playing style. Moving around, in the bushes, 12in.

well from my research, the 14in barrel has a little bit better accuracy and is quieter than the 12 in barrel.

Accuracy is mostly based on paint to barrel match. And for the barrel size I wouldnt go anything more than a 14".

You would hardly notice any difference from 12 - 14in. 12 - 16in., that might be a different story, but it will not be drastic.
14in. is the most universal length. The longer the better for airball and hyperball since you can push up against the air bunkers better and play tighter, and poke the barrel through the ridges of the hyper pipes to play tighter. Can also be good for woodsball and scenario to make it easier to poke your way through brush, or something like that, but it may also make it easier for you to get caught up on something.
Personally, I'd just stick with 14in. for any type of play.

Yeah if I am playing back I prefer a 16" barrel not so much because of any accuracy difference (because I can't tell any accuracy/ sound difference from my Dye UL 14 and 16" tips) but because when you suck into the prop a lot of times it leaves an 1" of barrel sticking out so you can shoot while 99% behind cover.

Ive been told several times there is almost no difference in performance. The 12" is just smaller and more compact. (i have a J&J w/ both 12 and 14)
