palmers brass barrels

anyone have any experience with them? i've heard stuff about them being elliptically honed. what does this accomplish?

(and do they mean that the actual bore of the barrel is not round? or do they mean that from the back to front of the barrel, the diameter is not constant?)

also i'm aware that brass must be polished periodically. but does this affect performance? or is it purely cosmetic?

i'm thinking of getting one for my procarb (a5 thead)

thanks

I'm pretty sure its just for cosmetic but I may be wrong. I would sjtu whipe it down after playing and it should stay nice. And I have heard good things about them too. A guy on another forum jsut got one for his cocker and loves it.

you would have to clean the inside of the barrel. Corrosion or other stuff in their could cause problems.

I really wouldn't suggest a brass barrel. There are plenty of other barrels out there that are lighter, perform better, and are probably cheaper.
