i was wonderin if theres any way to remove the dents from paintballs... besides buyin a new case of better paint instead.

not that iv ever heard of, read of or seen, sometimes that can happen when paint has been sitting for too long, going from hot to cold too many times causes them to swell a bit then contract, streaching the shell, so theres no way to un-streach it, better paint will usually hold out longer.

o, and they are dimples, not dents, just so you know

lol thats wut i meant to say. i knew it didnt sound right the first time... but i jus put the paintballs on a large surface area cardboard box lined with paper towel n left it there a few days while rolling them around everyday. The number of dimples went significantly down

hmm thats interesting, i didnt mean that first message to say there wasnt any way, are they warmer where they are now? how did you come up with that idea?

i recall reading it somewhere either here or pbnation. but his process supposedly took about 3 weeks instead. his way was to have a towel hung on both ends and have a paintballs on there about 3-4 layers thick n rolled them around everyday. i basically did the same thing except mine were at the most one layer ontop of another.

hmmm ill have to try that someday, but i cant remember the last time i had paintballs with dimples anyway. I know i couldnt leave mine out for as long as he wanted, im in the pacific northwest and its pretty humid around here, at least right now, well acually its generally wet, we had snow last week, ya some spring huh?

man... our weather is f'ed up. one day it'll be almost 80, and the next day it drops back to 40..

lol it pretty much just stays cold around here, i wish we had 80 degrees, this morning it was 30, hasnt warmed up much yet.

what i do seems to work pretty well. I have a second refridgerator in my basement taht we put sodas and extra stuff into, I put my paint in there which helps keep constant temp and the coldness stiffens the shell so it stays rounder longer. I've kept a case of piant for over 8 months in my fridge and they were perfect. They were WREK Elite balls.

Keeping paint in the fridge, unless it is a constant 60 degrees, isn't the best for it. As you noticed it will effect the shells and make them more brittle to use. Basically a warm, dry, sun free area works really well.

I have found that sometimes older paint that is dimpled will come back by opening the bags and rolling them as suggested. Paintballs dimple because they loose water through the shell, albeit a very small amount, but they certainly can. Exposing them to the atmosphere allows some water back into the fill and allows the balls to become more round. I have also heard of dipping your hands in water and then sprinkling a few drops into the box you are rolling with. The trick on this type of thing is to make sure that the balls are then sealed up in a ziplock bag or something to prevent too much water loss or gain and make the balls worthless. Either that or get used to your paint doing curves out of the barrel, or breaking in your marker.
