Just wanted to know if anyone plays at Paintball Explosion indoor enough to know what common barrel bores are used, summer & winter.

Ya Valken paint, they have their own field paint from Valken. When I was there last my ball-detents were not working. Sometimes up to 4 balls would fall out, all the way out the barrel. My barrel is a .689. I was the only one in my group that was breaking paint, but my gun was my problem. One in my group was using a rental the other 2 had DM's. Some people play at a place so often they just know whats best bore.

it's not their own, it's just a special printed shell that is made for them. There's lots of fields that do it.

Bore sizes change from batch to batch, due to humidity/temperture, etc. Fix your detents and you won't have issues. The only thing that under-boring does is get you better shot to shot consistency.

What I meant when I said "own" is they are not the same as if you just order a box online.

Paintball Explosion even uses a certain indoor paint, witch even if the machine doesn't make the same size consistently, it will on an average make small bore paint, medium bore paint or big bore paint. And I'm sure summer and winter average bore size is different.

The indoor paint is not "special" just when you buy paint they had 3 kinds indoor, outdoor & both inside/outside paint. All the paint I seen was white fill, indoor or outdoor. The indoor paint was $65/case, the indoor/outdoor was $72/case, & sorry but I didn't ask about the outdoor.

I like the indoor fields size 200ft x 85ft is good for me. The turf was soft on my knees(with no pads). The fill stations were nicely placed. I also liked the staging area/bleachers(great view of the field). I haven't been there when its hot yet, but most my plans of playing there are after summer(fall, winter, spring).

I live about 15-20 minutes from the facility. That being said - School is currently taking my money and time, and paintball takes a back seat.

After all that - The indoor paint is a more economical type paint meant to attract airballers who run thru it faster. They were going back and forth between Valken Echo and Valken Graffiti last I knew. Their indoor field required cleats and strongly recommends paintball pants. The floor isn't cleaned often and the turf is about as slippery as ice.

Their indoor/outdoor was Valken Redemption Pro. More consistent, a bit better break resistance in all-temps.

They also were a bit hit&miss as to whether they were running an outdoor only winter paint.

5-6 months ago - I was boring at .679. If I had issues, I'd step the insert up to a .684.

More recently - I've found that O'Hare paintball in Bensonville offers better deals for team practices and paint fees. Case & Entry for 55? 2 w/ entry for $100?

You just need to pre-register with the office to let them know what time you intend to show up...and you have to have affiliation with a team to get in. That's not to say you can't show up just to be another body and run drills with a team. In my experience, teams love additional bodies - so long as you understand you do not have priority over their primary combinations and lines.

Thank you. Nice post. The floor was covered in paint, but my pants didn't feel wet after a game. With in a few minuet's the paint dry's. I love new paint, back 15 years ago my pants would have been soggy at the end of the day, on a dirty field like that.

Their PBX house paint that we get most of the time for team practice is rebranded Valken Crusade paint. They switched 2-3 years ago to the Valken from the Draxxus Silver. Supposedly the same quality but I beg to differ...I really loved their house paint before. The Valken stuff is very brittle and inconsistent... I usually stick with a .684 at PBX.

Where is the field in Lafayette? I drive down I65 to Franklin all the time for work. Maybe I will toss my gear in the truck and play next time I am down.

The paintball barn. It's near Attica.
It's not a big field by any means, as a walk on player you won't find much appeal. However, there's usually enough people who show up on sunday to get some speedball practices in. Let me know when you can make it, and I'll try to get some guys out there. Solid players show up on sundays, and we're more than willing to help others get better. It's a very friendly atmosphere.

There's another field near northwest Indy, I think. It's only been open for a year or so but I hear good things about it. I can't remember the name of it, though.
