Barrel kit toss up
My decision between the empire barrel kit and the freak kit is pretty much a toss up. I really just cant decide, I loved my old empire kit... at the same time I've heard endless good things about freak. Though I'm not a SP fan... I'd shoot a freak kit if it kicks as much ass as hyped. If anyone knows where I could get a good priced even if its gently used empire or freak kit, lemme know please. The empire I'd like to get ahold of a chrome back black front kit if possible... would look phat with my black/chrome oriented marker. Freak... rather be all black.

The 4 peice Empire is $97.00, the 7 peice set is $170, and the 10 peice is $197. The Smart Parts Barrel kit is $180.00.

i would go with the empire kit. the freak is kinda fragile, because the inserts, even the stainless ones are easily damaged, and i have heard great things about the empire kit, so i would go with the empire kit

I have an empire 7 piece, nothing bad about it. And they're $160 for a 7 piece, not $170 like jdu said.

is tiller a junk barrel???
Does anyone have any feedback on tiller barrels????? I just got two of them and they paint keeps on breaking no matter what gun I put them on. I have tried them on my avengerII, orion, and Icon E. the seller told me they will work on any of the three guns that I have but I'm havin a few problems.

its probably the paint ur shooting not your gun. u should be able to take the barrel off and then put a paintball in the end. if if it rolls right thru, the balls a little small, if it goes thru the barrel with a blow of air, its about right, if it wont go thru no matte rhow hard u blow, the paintball is too big. im guessing the paint ur using is a little too big

I don't really like either one too much. Another kit you could check out is the Reds Pepperstick kit. The other day me and a couple my friends did a back to back comparision using the same gun and the paint was from the same batch, for each different type of paintballs we tried (Schorch, Blaze, Hellfire, UltraEvil, And Chronic). The barrels we tested we the Freak Kit (stainless inserts), the MacDev MatchStik kit, the Empire kit, Reds Peppersticks, and the Stiffi Kit The Reds kit averaged approx, 10% tighter grouping than the Empire and 12% tighter than the Freak (at a target 40 feet away and shooting at a chrono speed of 285, rechroned after each barrel change to keep it consistant test to test. Also shooting over the chrono the Reds was much more efficent than either of those 2 kits, the Freak for example, when going from the Freak to the Reds, without touching anything else on the gun before chronoing the velocity went from 285 to 320, so I had to lower the reg to bring it down. This means using less air per shot and increased number of shots per fill.

You guys realize that this thread was started in August, right?...
Only barrel kits I would use/recommend are the Mac Dev Matchstik, Redz Peppersticks, Stiffi Switch, Powerlyte Scepter, Custom Products Full Bore, J&J Edge, Dye Ultralite, and I might be missing one.
