if i put a J&J ceramic on a tippmann pro carbine will it increase shooting distance?

It wont really increase the distance but it will improve accuracy.

No barrel will increase your distance more than a foot (except the flatline). Barrels only serve the purpose of quieting your shot and makeing the trajectory of the ball smoother for more accuracy. Make sure you get a size that is about 12-14". Many think that a longer barrel = better accuracy/distance. This is not true. After 14 inches, the extra material is just a waste, and may actually decrease your performance.

The ball takes from what I've heard, anywhere from 4 to 10 inches to get to top speed. Any excess time traveled after that is gonna slow it down. That's why 18" and 21" barrels are useless. Not only will they slow the ball down, they are also extremely long and not very practical on the move.

I totally agree. But they are pretty quiet. And for peeking around speedball bunkers its easier with a longer barrel. But I still think that 18/21 inch barrel is reserved for noobs that wanna be a "sniper".

yeah i have a 14 inch j&J on my piranha and it doesnt shoot far buts its really quiet for a barrel and its fairly acurate i like it its a good barrel

Barrel length doesn't increase or decrease distance...you shoot a ball at 275 fps, its gonna go so far, doesnt matter if you shoot it with a 12 or a 14 inch or a 18 inch barrel. Distance is determined by FPS not barrel length.
