The original Flatline barrel for the 98 custom had it's problems. one of them is breaking fragile paint or breaking paint at high rates of fire..

they impreoved them w/ the flatline for the A-5. As you can shoot at a higher rate of fire and use more brittle paints then the 98 custom flatline

Basicly, all a flatline does is add bacspin which will give you more "reach our and tough you" distance, BUT, they are not accuret all all, the reason is b/c the balls will float up and down, and no really straight, I would say go w/ a good CP or J&J barrel if you are looking for a budget barrel. Remeber. .689 is the best size to get

accually, It's not really the best barrel for woods ball

Since a ball w/ back spin is going to be more fragile to breakage, especially when spinning at a high rate of speed

IF you like to do long range, somewhat accuret shooting (over 120 feet) then get a Flatline, just remeber you won't put ball ontop of ball

If you want a barrel that will shoot about 130 feet, and will put ball ontop of ball, get urself a .689 CP 1 peice barrel, or invest in a barrel kit.
