Okay, so I am retireing the flatline, im really not dedicated enough to deal with it. So I am planning on getting a Dye Boomstick, but I was wondering, does the barrel length make a huge difference? Should I get a 14, 16, or 18 inch barrel? I play mostly rec ball, in open fields, with lots of bunkers, and am plannin on playin some woodsball too. any info would be great. thanks.

oh yea, i got a tippmann 98 custom

oh, and another thing, i woudl really just like advice about the boomstick, not "you should get 'blah blah' instead" thanks.

i wouldnt go over 16", 14 is an all around good length for a barrel, but if you go any more than 16, it really has no purpose other than slowin a ball down more... i'd go with a 14"er

dude it's wut position you play cause i'm mid and i use a 12 and a 10 cause a 14 and a 12 inch have no difference what so ever.

If you play airball in any position your stupid for using a 10in or a 12in barrel.

14 and 16 are the only way to go.

that still doesnt matter, the only part that matters is the first 6-8 inches of the barrel. the length of the barrel past 16" Does NOT matter, read the posts above.

yeah since those 18 inches will help your paintballs go all the way across the field.... 16 inches and 18 inches are BOTH quite nice for airball... but you're probably |-|4|2dK0|-||2 \/\/o0D$|3411x0|2z, aren't you, shooting across those huge, huge, huge fields... but yeah... i don't recommend 18" for anything except airball.... and 16" is just as much preference as a 12 or 14 is...

A paintball shot from a spyder or an angel or an autococker with a 10" or 12" or 14" or 16" or 18" or god forbid, 21" barrel moving at 300 FPS will all go the same distance... I don't know how many times we say this a week in these forums, but it's too many... We need to add this to the forum rules:

"You must grasp the fact that any paintball moving at 300 FPS will go the same distance as any other, regardless of barrel length, marker type, etc. If you choose not to follow this rule, you will be IMMEDIATELY banned, scalped, flogged, and hung. Following that, there will be an open urination session, in which all who please will consume large amounts of fluids and take turns urinating on your rotting corpse."

Can we get that added?

lmao, lez clear this up immediately: warpstoner is right, end of story. For the noobs who think were talking merely barrel length ( 16 inch and plus +), it's not about making the paintball go farther or more accurate....warp is saying 16 inch so you can PUSH THE BUNKER IN. Airball it's helpful to have that extra 2 inches so you can scoot in. mod's right/your wrong because you must ( and i hope it is this ) not know that.

I play air and I got a 10 inch UL for my trix, I can still push bunkers and I play relaly tight. I had a 14, but I got rid of it. I think 10 is good.
