Question Uh.... Barrel Problem, J&J Ceramic on a 98

Ok, I've got two Tippmann 98s, and I just bought a J&J Ceramic 14", and a 32 Degrees Quiet Riot 14". My old Tippmann, Serial #11770, fits both just right, along with the Standard 9" barrel that came with my new Tippmann, and the Flatline, both of which can fit both Tippmans. Make sense so far?

The Problem is, Niether the J&J Ceramic, or the Quiet Riot will fit my new Tippmann 98, #271829. It will only go in about a Quarter Inch, and then it stops. I'm not going to force it, it should be easy. And yes, both Barrels are threaded for Tippmanns.

Help me. Please?

Tippmann changed the threads on the newer 98's, starting at 250,000 (number may be wrong). Newer tippmanns will need a barrel made to fit the new threads, but old style 98's will take either thread pattern.

My mistake on the numbers there. That sure makes it odd.

If you losen the 3 bolts on the front of the marker, the one in the forgrip, the front sight, and the mid point one, will the barrel screw in all the way then?

Uh, Negative, Tried that. And, to be honest, the threads really don't look different. It just won't go in..... I actually had the whole gun apart, and tried to put it into the half, and it wouldn't go in all the way.

so it will fit one half of the body? Will it thread into each side, if there are seperate?

Are you the first owner of this marker or is it used and someone else could have fooled with it?

Sorry, I meant to say that it wouldn't go in all the way. I was going to see if I could install it similarly to how the Flatline's adaptor is installed.

...And yes, I'm the first owner of this gun. I bought the other M98 (The one the barrels fit into) second hand.

Are they both M98s or is one a 98 Custom. There is a difference between the two.

Ok, both are plain M98s, The newer one has the 98C split grips, and the new style safety, the older one has the old one piece grips, and the chrome safety.

The Barrels are for the 98 Custom, I was sure the threads were the same. The thing is, tippmann barrels will work on both M98s, but the 32 degrees and the J&J only fit the old one. I don't know what the problem is, But since I'm planning to sell the new one and get a 98 Custom, I think I'll wait and see if the Quiet Riot will work on that.

[Edit] Thanks for trying to help me, BTW.
