Wrong.
The Gen 3 used the same body style (for the most part) with a new frame and front block. The Bodies are the same size and the Gen 2s only weight a few ounces more if they have the Alias style parts on them.
The Timmy is easily better than an Ion. The only good Spool Valve guns are made by Dye/Gen E, the rest are all kind of... meh. The Shocker is alright, but there are better guns for the price (Like Dye guns and Timmies).
The ECX had a hot look to it and has an LED Clammy instead of the LCD, which I prefer.
Depending on how much cash you have, you may want to look at the Gen 3s as well. You can find a nice Alias for about 500 on nation.
