Fsdo

Alright, sorry if this is a stupid question, but i've only had my timmy for one day now, so i know basically nothing.

My abomb is getting horrible first shot drop... the ball wouldn't even make it out of the barrel if my UL back wasn't so big. I asked some guy at a field what to do, and he just said "poppet", and walked away. I'm assuming he either meant to lube, clean, or replace orings (does it even have orings?) or something on the poppet.

I also heard something like, the HPR being set to high can cause first shot drop, but that just doesn't sound right to me. Higher pressures = lower velocity? What?

So basically, what can I do to help first shot drop?

Thanks for putting up with my timmy noob-ness.

Maybe one of the regs is leaking and is starving the recharge of the reg for the first shot?

No, there aren't any leaks coming from either of the regs.

I found out the guy was trying to tell me to grease the poppet orings, so i did that, but the FSDO is still here.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't even own a timmy (yet...?), but I understand the basic workings of them so, it might be that perhaps your ram isn't lubed properly, so it takes the first shot to loosen it up before it starts working okay.

Is your velocity in the right range when it's shooting normally?

Found the problem, and i feel pretty stupid...

After
1) Greasing poppet
2) Greasing ram
3) cleaning BOTH regs
4) fooling with dwell
5) playing with pressures

I got desperate and decided to change my battery. Voila. Apparently 6.3 volts isn't enough to make the board function properly? Or maybe the voltage meter is a little off? Well, either case, changing the battery fixed the problem. thanks for the sugggesions, though.

Hahah, well you've fixed your problem, but in case you run into trouble in the future, first thing check for leaks (after your battery ). I had a small leak from my macro and i was getting FSDO. After fixing that it was all better. I should have checked my battery though...
