Hopefully A soon to be Timmy owner

Working on a deal with someone on the nation about a Storm Timmy. Its basically bone stock. So I am wondering as far as performance, maitanence, and other aspects, how is the storm?

I've been out of Paintball for quite sometime so the storm is going to be my 1st timmy. Any advice would be great.

thanks,
SLAhimself

Is the storm a 2k2 or 2k5? How much you paying for it?

the Texas Storm which is a 2k2 platform marker, is a great platform to start with. even though it is older than the Alias style - 2k5 markers, performance is going to be essentially the same. maintenance is very simple, you just have to keep your ram o-rings and regulator piston o-rings lubed regularly with Dow55, as well as the poppet o-ring (not as often as the ram and regs), and a couple drops of tri-flow on the o-rings of the bolt. depending on how much you play, the rubber detents are going to be another maintenance item. fortunately for buyers (and unfortunately for sellers) the value of 2k2 style timmys is pretty low - as evolkers2003 asked, how much are you paying?

Im paying 280$ its basically all stock. So I'd assume its a 2k2.

Ah, its not too bad of a deal then. I would almost have rather looked for a used mini or fusion for that price though.

You can find stock 05 Aliases for not much more than $300 these days you should probably try to talk him down. $280 would be more reasonable if the storm had some upgrades...

$280 isn't a good price on a Storm.

I seen an Empire2 for $450, and after Cup they will be even lower.

You sure? I cant afford to spend 450$ as far as I hear the storm shoots ropes. I have around a 280$ budget and it seems to be right up my alley.

I am up to any suggestions so keep me updated guys.

EDIT: Just found a used fusion for 290$ those guns are sick, I havent heard much about those or the mini though. The storm is appealing to me because I had shot many timmys before I quit, A good friend of mine had an A-bomb which I had worked on a bit with him and such.

I got an Empire II with ups for $375 - not saying you'll find that - it was a rare sick deal but as you can see, newer platforms can be had for not that much more. so i would say the storm is GREAT - and you can always upgrade is as there are tooooooooons of aftermarket parts availalbe, even 2k5 it if you want later. but $280 is too high for a 5 year old gun that's bone stock IMO.

I prefer the timmy over the fusion. perhaps i'm biased....w/e. the storm should go for less than 280 for sure. If you can't talk the seller down, then the fusion would be good. you could probably find a stock alias for not much more.

Well, either you are going to keep looking around for a good deal, or make more money.

As I said before, Timmy prices will drop even lower after Cup. If you feel like waiting a little bit, you'll save some cash.

If you aren't set on a body style, pick up a "standard" 2k2 marker (should find them $200-$250)

or a Z/GZ (ignore the funky color fade - you should be able to find them floating around the low $200s)

Yeah crank those are real nice. As far as timmy models it doesnt matter to me. I will buy anyone for cheap. My problem is finding a good deal. Most people who are selling Timmys have really upped ones and wants like 350+.

I am going to just keep looking around and try to find a good deal. Also, as Barber said Timmys will drop, I may wait I am not sure. I will keep all of you updated.

Those are great deals crank. However, I am going to wait until after the cup like evolkers said. Timmys will probably go down, then I will make my move.
