tired of posting in the blowback forum

sup kneegrowes

im getting very bored of my piranha, and have decided to go on a quest for a timmy, hopefully by/before xmas. yeah, its a long way off, but $$$ is tight for me, ive already tried to get the ol lady to let me skip the house note once so's i could buy me one.....no dice. ive been drooling over the species and ripper for an eternity, but have come to the conclusion that i am gonna hafta settle a used classic or something. is it even possible to get something relatively nice for around 5-600 ? any models i should stay away from? help a noob out would ya?

dont get a classic. a GZ would be your prime choice, but maby keep ur eyes open for a bare bonz stock 2k2. other than that, thats all u will get. like i am gettin a 2k2 with some ups for 700.... but i think it is an insane deal personally.

rofl i can see sikpup shoot the timmy for the first time after shootin the piranha for so long.... lollerskates

well, for the kind of money they cost, it better make me feel like i just discovered my ding-ding all over again.

what are some of the pitfalls to avoid when looking for a used one? (and dont give me the crap of watching who i buy from, i already have had my course on intraweb.net safety). is there ways to tell if its messed up just from looking at it?

like baur said, i myself would personally look for a classic or gz with clamshell. you should easily be able to pick one of them up for under 700.

as for knowing if one is braked, its hard to tell, unless you can see like big ass dents etc. otherwise, id just post up a few and see wich we reccomend. if you want, here in a few ill browse pbn for a few and check to see whats out there in your range.

lolz

yes a timmy is electro pneumatic

so is an angel

cockers are mechanical pneumatic. it has to do with the say the valves are operated, eather by air or electricity, or what ever. someone else could prolly explain what electro-pneumatic means better than i could.

the clam shell is the type of trigger frame.

here are examples

in the first pic, the frame IS a clam shell (thats the timmy i am gettin mind you)

the second picture is the gz frame.... they suck, board dont fit in them, dont get one.

the last one is a classic frame.... ya you and can pretty much tell they suck just by lookin at it.
