Vl Orion Valve Problem
I Just bought another Orion. Now i have 2 P.O.S. Orions. This new one has the same problem like the old one, " cant adjust velocity ". No matter how good i clean the gun and barrel, and adjust the valve, the ball flies everywhere. I dont know whats wrong. ive tried shooting expensive and cheap ammo, and it still flies all over the place. Can a ORION EXPERT TELL ME WHAT TO DO?

marsullus is right, you just spent 100 bucks on two guns and neither of them work. Get an imagine or save up and get something like a bko. also, its called paint, not ammo. AMmo comes out of real guns

hmm, either buy a new gun, or buy a $5 aftermarket barrel off ebay. an orion is a VERY simple blowback. if you can't get it working, go to a more experienced guy on a field to help you out.

the velocity should be on the outside, you dont need to mess with the valve or anything... its a knob or screw on the back of the gun right below the bolt. turning clockwise makes velocity go up, and counterclockwise makes it go down.

um... no, it's easy to damage the valve if you say... use a screwdriver to remove it, or install the valve backwards, or take a big chunk out of the cup seal or seal seat (the little plastic/metal hat shaped thing, and the lip it sits on when the valve is assembled)
also, some guns have adjustable valves, like the VM-68.

The Orion Dosent have one for starters.
a cheap aftermarket barrel wont solve your problem.
Yes, ive seen the valve get screwed up. Theres a screw in there and if you miss the hole the hammer will strike the bolt, bending it and the valve pin wont move freely, so your marker wont work.
Thanks for the advice though.

You sure don't give us much info, have you fired them across a chrono? High velocity can make them curve all over too.

Spyderbator, the valve on the Orion isn't adjustible, but there's a velocity screw on the back of the gun. Is this what you mean?
Make sure the main spring (in the rear of the lower tube) is properly seated in the adjuster cap and striker, and make sure the rubber thing is around the spring.
As for curving balls, I think it's a side effect of the gun. A Spyder J&J barrel made a difference on my Triad (essentially the same as the Orion), but I'm starting to think the stock bolts on ViewLoader markers, light as they are, are really bad. There's not much you can do since there's no ridiculous venturi to remove.
I made a Delrin bolt on a lathe and got 30fps more velocity. I'm a horrible machinist, so if my crappy bolt outperforms the stock one there must be a problem.
Unfortunately, no one makes aftermarket bolts for VL markers (VL makes a Delrin bolt for $30, but I'm not spending that), and Spyder bolts won't work.

Paintball, what a welcoming sport! Paintball, where your worth as a person is totally dependent on how much you spent on your gun! Paintball, where form is more important than function! Welcome to being insulted by people who can't even spell! Welcome to Paintball! What a great sport!
If that didn't make sense to some of you, this might:

Whats your problem? Im not insulting his marker, My first was a Brass Eagle so shut up. You can adjust the velocity with an allen wrench, but his marker isnt as good as a spyder or a Tippmann.
Instead of spending 50 dollars on a GOOD barrel, he can save up for a new marker that he will be happier with.

...or he can get a barrel off ebay or a paintball shop bargain bin for $5-10. and any marker is as good as any other, if you know how to use it, take care of it, and adjust it properly (sometimes involves some cutting/grinding, but it's all good)
and I have the right to talk as much as anyone else does... so no telling me, or anyone else on here to shut up unless they're flaming.. in which case you tell a mod. What if someone said to you "hey, your carbine isn't worth the cost of getting it to work right (god forbid that was possible...) so go get a new one."?
you wouldn't feel very good now, would you? I'm just saying that it's not a nice thing to do. this place is for new players... it's not somewhere to get new players to buy more expensive guns..

so you're saying that a blade is the same quality and as a tippmann, or a triad is the same quality or as good as a wgp cocker?
