Remove it like you would unscrew a light bulb or a screw. In one hand hold the barrel and use the other hand to hold the rest of the marker. Turn the barrel to the left and continue turning it until it is off of the marker. When you need to put it back on be careful, you do not want to mess up the threads of the barrel or the marker.
