This is just me clamping my hopper DIRECTLY to my feed neck of my spider WITHOUT adding that clear Hand tightning screw feeder neck. (chops WAY less balls this way too)

poor man's lightning bolt mod: (tl;dr version)
remove the venturi from your stock spyder bolt. if unscrewing it doesnt work, you can drill it out if you have the equipment. next, you need some sandpaper and aluminum polish. sand/polish the bolt anywhere it comes in contact with the marker body untill mirror smooth (you can see yourself in the reflection)
optional: drill out the hole between the 2 o-rings on a stock bolt so it is bigger than it was before.
congratulations, you just produced a home-made version of a $50 bolt that is no longer manufactured! this will increase your velocity AT LEAST 10 fps, expect more than that, possibly as high as 30 fps. why would you buy an AKA lightning bolt if you can make your own?

Ive made most of Otters mods that you mention to my stock Spyder except for this one:

increases airflow to the front of the bolt. basically the bigger the hole is, the less chance the air has to escape the space between the o-rings. this also causes a slight velocity boost. there are some other bolts that have this area almost completely open, i'll try to find a pic for you.
edit: here's a pic of that bolt. the kind of "gap" you see is the whole area between the two o-rings you have on a normal bolt, and all of that area allows much higher gas-flow

Well I drilled (well actually dremmeled) out that hole and you do see a slight increase in velocity. Also with an adgitator hopper there seems to be less chops than before the mod....
No idea why.
