Don't use vinegar. It will turn anything you try to copper plate green!
Use water and laundry detergent as your solution.
As far as gutting an airsoft gun and fitting a PB gun inside it just do exactly that (aka GUT it). You dont need a top feed tube on your PB body. There is a company that custom mod's Airsoft to fit around spiders and they have them for both top and side (<--- forget what this is called ) feed.
I used a copper penny to coper plate stuff and it worked out ok. ( I was plating small parts)

Well, I took my first shot at it last night and the copper deffinitely wasn't green. I did run into a problem though. The copper didn't actually adhere to the aluminum LPC. I figured out my problem and realized that there was a second I didn't consider. My problem was the clear ano on the LPC wouldn't let the copper adhere. The second problem is that copper and aluminum are disimilar metals and will react slowly over time producing a very small electrical charge and erroding the metals at the connecting point. Basically, the copper will fall off. The solution is to zinc plate the aluminum first and then copper plate over that.
As far as turning green, it's called a patina. lol Actually if I wash the part well and polish it the copper color should come back. Then I either just have to keep polishing it or spray a clear coat over the top to keep it from oxidizing.
The oxidization was probably from reacting with the aluminum. A zinc plate is needed to keep the two metals from making actual contact.
That's why if you put a peice of copper and a piece of aluminum into a vinegar salt solution you will actually get a voltage across them. Basically, it's a battery. I checked my setup and was able to get .5 volts DC out of my setup.
Notice the custom O-ring on the front of my bolt? I milled a groove in my spyder bolt to accomidate that ring. It makes for MUCH smoother action and my understanding is (from the person that told me how to do it) It extends the life of your gun and your bolt.

Did you use an actual mill or did you use some "Po Man" method for that O-ring? I've used parts locked into a drill press before when I've had to mill some things down a bit at my old job but I've never attempted something like that for a marker.

I locked the part down in my hand (aka I just held onto it ) and "milled" the extra o-ring slot using my dremmel. I used a reinforced cutting wheel. You buy them in packs of 5 - 6. They are bigger and have "fibers" on the outside of them. They don't break off as easy as a regular cutting wheel for your dremmel and can stand more abuse.
